Looks like both is upgradeble.. (VAGCOM2 hard to see microcontroller) but it looks like ATMega162. Guide is included in Kolimer's Loader + many guides in whole thread.. Also for VAGCOM1 suggest you to remove STC chip..

In your case will block Atmega when you will try to reflash. In Kolimer's zip you will find all you need to know (pics included).

Tried to run vagcom_hwtype but it says "interface not found". My cable shows as ross-tech hex-usb in device manager. Should I install some different driver?

Connect PIN 16 to +12V and PIN 4 to GND (-) and try again.

Hi guys I tryed V6 and works good. I only have some noise with windows 10 for example if you try to link vcdsloader.exe from c:rosstech/vcds to desktop and try to start vcds from desktop the vcds doesn't works. So you need to start it from installation folder "c:rosstech/vcds". In windows 7 no problem anyway

I'd try to remove jumper J1 and J5 from pcb of vag but I in my opinion nothing change. May be it could affect some models of cars that I didn't try. Do you confirm that? What are the jumper for?

I tryed V6 with 18.2 on MQB chassis... On golf 7 works. It doesn't works on audi A4 B9 and Q5 FY. Have anyone notice about new car MQB ? Which model does 18.2 V6 works or not works?

Remove them or they make K2 not work on older cars (for example, B5 and C5)

About hardware in the pics: came with fuse bits set like this: CD DC FB CC
Are they set ok?
Or should I changed them in CD DA F9 CC for 18.2.0 +v6. 3 loader, as they are stated in the INFO pdf from Kolimer's zip?

High: 0xDC = 256 words bootloader (HW - 0x44)
High: 0xDA = 512 words bootloader (HW - 0x46)

for extended fuses difference between 0xFB and 0xF9 is brown-out voltage level.. so 0xFB will reset at 2.7V and 0xF9 will reset at 4.3V

What is the function of STC chip?

I think it was to recover or manipulate FT232BL eeprom content (93C56) (also it have connection to atmega162 but in normal hardware this pin is not connected.. (PIN26 PE2)
it used to fry many ft232bl chips..

I cutted thread for STC and flashed fw 1.96 + eeprom hw 0.44 succesfully. Everything seems to be ok but VCDS reports that self test failed?

So you did cut circuit to R50, reflash FT232 and Atmega and still "no interface found"?
