VAG-COM/VCDS EVERYTHING

Solder small wires to atmega162 pin #1, #2, #3 and #4 or follow PCB for easier location. Connect them to appropriate pins on usbasp. Put +12v and ground to obd2 connector. Connect vcds cable to USB. Flash with Kolimer's ...eewritelang. And update firmware through vcdsloader port test. BTDT today.

Before that tried without soldering but didn't work.

THIS is a 12.12 any idea of chipset as Its my friends. Will it flash? . Anyway works on 12.12 even can so is usable at the moment.

FT Chip ID can't be cloned.

I thought as much. It works fine with 12.12.....just keep it offline. My 17.1 is faulty so going to order another.

I did dump my 16.8 Atmega162 memory and EEPROM using Atmel ICE and Atmel Studio.

I read few pages of this thread but i don't understand a lot of things

I have this interface. I want to program it. I have .hex to it.
Atmega162, FT232RL, china clone , vcds 17.1.3 (if it's possible i want to upgrade it to 17.8.1)

Which HW version do i have? 0x44 or 0x46. I tried to use Kolimer's VAGCOM_HWType but i got "No response". i installed drivers and interface is present in device manager as "RossTech Interface".

I want to buy programmer. Is this (see image below) good? I see 6 pin on my cable and this programmer has 12 pins. Will it fit?

Your cable is 0x46 and search in google for "usbasp pinout" ...you will find that answer on this topic too...
By the way, from those 6 pins header on the cable you will use only 4..Miso Mosi Sck and Reset. Buy that usbasp and read more in this topic you will find everything you need...

GND is also necessary..

also for VAGCOM_HWType something is not right with VID/PID.. try first rewrite FT232 with files supplied with loader..

You should recount them and read more pages. Also couple pages from beginning.
