The jumpers are for AES they are for Chinese soft, it does work with or without jumpers as they will work but you need them in for Chinese soft..best to remove jumpers as they are not needed and can be removed, I believe...As for hw44/hw46 not sure.

I have exactly this interface too and mine works with the x46 firmware just fine.. In fact, it should be a x44 interface because of the two connected pins (at least visibly, I didn't checked it on my cable) but the x46 firmware works.
I don't get it.

I use same interface with x46 firmware and jumper removed

I flashed my VCDS 0x46 with latest dump and then use VCDSLoader v6.3 but i test it in my friend VW Passat 2009 and long codding not working. Example i unchecked in Parkhilfe optical illustration then codding. I get info Codding succes and then go and still optical illustration is checked. Also test on other modules and the same problem. I use it with Polish VCDS 18.2.1
Is anybody who can also test it ?

can this cable be upgraded, currently running vcds 15.4 however cannot open the rod file for the engine adaptations for vw golf mk6.

is this because the interface does not have an ATmega chip in it?
do you know what kind of chip it does have?

This is because of D79F... chip (biggest one near light diode).
You could also install newer version (but don't run vcds after it) in temp folder un try copying missing rod file to 15.4 and hope it works. If not, delete it.

Simple question. What happens if you reflash it to English and use 18.2 EN version?

I'd suggest you try and report back. If we find out that there are some problems with v6.3 loader, then some improvements will need to be made...

Hello all,

I bought one vcds 17.8 from china. It worked only once and after that gave me some communication error and unlincesed without to connect it to internet, I used with one virtual machine. Now it's working partially, you have to cancel that pop up message with comm error and in the end it's saying that is not licensed.
Here is the vdcds module.
It's FT232RL, ATMEGA 162 16AU, MCP2515 1741, ATMEL 736 ATA 6561, ATF1 16V8B 15JU.
After I read this forum I understood that I have to reflash it but I don't know what HW version it is. Can you help me please with some steps from where to begin to flash ?
