Removing GAL in my case would be the last option. Currently I got error, self test failed. Few posts back.

I'm waiting with removing GAL, maybe someone had similar problems as me.

look..your error is in ALL versions of eeprom/\/cd5?
    Or only in this case..

If is in all, POSSIBLE to be gal. If only in 6.3 case..leave gal in it place.

But because of the "got bless kolimer"-splash, I wouldn't mind.
I was not talking about the cable but the loader, as someone said Kolimer have a commercial version without the Kolimer's logo

I work with the updatable OBD2cartool VCDS that I have flashed with Kolimer's tool, it works pretty well and have a pretty similar ro$$ case. It will be better for me if I can pay a "no logo" version but if not, I continue to support Kolimer with his logo at the start of the software

Ok, I think I could use some advise.

I have an old cable, marked 912 (came with VCDS 9.12), which I messed up myself by connecting it to a un-tweaked VCDS while connected to the net, so it "updated" it.
That's what you get for not using it 5 years, forgetting how to use it, and just downloading the latest VCDS.

With a lot of reading on this forum, I managed to wire it up and flashed it with Kolimer. Its a type 0x46, and it all seemed to work, except it kept telling me my car does not have a CAN bus. K lines OK, no CAN. See error.
My car (5N frame, 2011 VW Tiguan) does have CAN bus, and it still works at the OBD connector, two different generic ELM327 also work.

So I figured with all my tweaking, maybe I damaged something. I buy another one. I got one marked 182, came with VCDS 18.2
To my surprise and chagrin, that one too reports K lines OK and no CAN bus.

Photo attached. I now strongly suspect it is not a cable problem, but something else. But what?
Just to be complete, I also attach photo's of the actual 912 and 182 devices, but I suspect that is not the cause.

Any suggestions? All I try to do is set my 2E Media and 77 Phone to get my Dension BT Pro to work on the MF Display.

    Thanks

    You have a keen eye!

As part of my soldering to reflash it, I damaged the ground trace (turns out the PCB was already warped and under tension by the manufacturer, and me handing it made that specific ODB2 pin/pad lift from the PCB).
That wire is simply fixing that, it is literally connecting the same pins as the ground trace was.
Yes, I am quite sure (99%) there are no other damaged traces. Maybe not absolutely 100% sure, but that is why i bough another device.

@Mario6: Another laptop? I guess I could try that. But its not like I have them lying about. Will try to find one, in the mean time, any other suggestion welcome.

    Hi guys,

Just order a VAG182 cable from a aliexpress supplier but the CD they sent was empty so I tried to use the original 1.8.2.1 from ross tech and it keep showing me the error interface not found I switch to 1.8.2 and same error!

I've tried using the V2.7 loader on a 1.7.8 still the same error and my VCDS showing me unregistered/not valid...

When I plug the VCDS cable onto the car it show red light and switch to green light

Should I flash via USB via MPROG the 'BL' one?

Thanks here some pic of my chip inside its an atmega162
