Hello, I'm somewhat new to all the VCDS stuff (just had some cheap OBD2 dongle), but I want to now reset my service interval and also do other things.
I searched for quite a while until I found this forum and that there are cheap cables from china.

Does this thing look legit? Or is it not possible that it already has this 18.9 version and I should buy an older one?
I guess I should use the b164183bc43b6bcc95c75dded3dd634be4371ec3 installer instead of the CD they send me because the china CD might contain malware, or will that not work?

Are you sure? It's the same as cartool, only this is 6usd cheaper. If you are lucky, can find the same for as low as 19usd. Then why pay 2x times more as cartool and get only 1x cable?

No, it's not the same, mate..
That cable doesn't have controllers for K-lines and is driven by transistors. That's why it's better to go with Obd2cartool's version!
Sometimes you get what you pay for. Be careful.

Yes, my bad. Didn't check pictures good enough from phone. Still possible to find and get the same hardware as "they" are selling for less money.
