    you are forgetting that the cost of producing a product is not the only factor you have to take into account when setting a price. You have at least:
    - transport
    - packaging
    - cost of maintaining a business ( installations, utilities, taxes, etc )
    - the cost of labor, in this case people writing software for the product to work and also sales and support and whatever more is needed.
    - and quite important too: since in this particular case you don't pay for software improvements, the cost of the cable must account for the fact that when you purchase it, it will be the only time you will be spending money with it.

    So lets say that you make a product that costs 10usd to make, package and transport to the customer, but you only have one customer and he will only buy once. will you sell the product for 10usd? or will you sell it for 10 million usd? 10 million usd would allow you to pay for a 8 person team for 10 years making 100.000 usd year before taxes.

    I have a cloned cable and the reason is, I use it once in a year and I don't think it is worth it to pay 200usd for a cable. but in all honesty, ross tech has the best pricing of all industry. they give you the same cable and price it so that enthusiasts actually have a chance to pay for it at a reduced price without loss of functionality while letting the bigger price for those that make money out of it. If the cable with vin restrictions would be priced at 100 usd I would certainly buy it.
    Having said that, at a medium price of 300 usd, they have to sell around 3500 cables year to pay for a 8 person team making 100k without taxes per year each. I don't think that they are getting rich.

    How to find out if an adapter is blocked or not, signs of a blocked scanner often consist in the fact that it does not see any blocks of the vehicle and does not receive a license key, C-test.exe is downloaded, we place it in the root folder with the program, we connect the scanner to + 12 volts and to the laptop. Launch the C-test and see. An example of a blocked lace and work:

    good scanner

    Check Sum 2 : 0x41E0

    All these actions are possible only if your bootloader is unlocked initially, the program does not unlock the bootloader, this is possible only by the programmer.This is a simple example of how to find out whether a cable is blocked or not, as well as help for beginners who do not know how to find out whether it is possible to flash a cable or not without a programmer. The C-test program works anywhere with the RT-USB.DLL file
    I think the origin of this program (C-test) knows BASI.

    Good day!
    How safe is this test?
    I wonder, what happens if you run the test on an original interface ?!

    Don't see any point using it as the HW_Info (updated) has got almost all the info which is displayed by that tool
    I can calculate ABS module codings for:
    * Continental/Teves MK60EC1 and MK60;
    * TRW systems in Passat B6 / B7 / CC /Tiguan;
    * MK100
    ;
    * Bosch ABS8.2, ABS9.0 and ESP8.2, ESP9.0;
    * EBC 460 (UP!, Mii, Rapid, CitiGo, Fabia, Toledo, etc) New!
    *
    ... and other VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda modules.I can assist with repairing \/CDS interfaces.

    I find it useful, but nobody forbids everyone to have their own opinion, I see people find it useful, so time is not wasted.
    The meaning of the program is not the testimony of the version, but is there a line Clone mark : !!!

    Hi everyone.

    Bought a cheap Chinese "Hex - v2" and got f*****

    It did came with a "Micro CD" that I can't use. Tried 17.8.1 as it was supposed to work with v17.
    I've skimmed trough the last 30 pages here and as I understand it this is a ARM device and can't be saved?

    Ask seller for exact version it was made to work. Or try different versions of 17.1.x and 17.8.0
    That is not an ARM.
    Read again your second sentence...

    Work correctly with software version 17.1.3 and you need a loader and you can download it from the private link.

    Pictures where at 3024x4032 but must have been resized by forum.
    It has a FTDI 1324-c usb to rs232 chip, a MCP2515 CAN controller, a ATMEL ATA 6560 CAN transceiver and a ARM chip.
