When you start doing something, be sure you know enough to finish it.
If you have problem with your cable: first you find dumps for atmega and a programmer, than you write ftdi with mProg and go further to atmega using a hardware usb programmer for atmel; offcourse you need a power source 12v cc and a computer. And most important read this huge thread to find answers or take a shortcut and use "search".

I tried to update because it was for the same ftdi, i was hoping that in some way my fields will be able to show the whole info for me. Tell me what programmer i should buy to do it. i have got TL866CS Programmer should this be ok if i unsolder and solder the atmega? i have plcc44 socket for the programmer? or i need to do it with AVR Programmer?
No need to desolder atmega, use AVR prog. it is safer and faster; and AVR prog. it is cheap to buy.
And when are ready to reflash use entire set of files : ept flash eeprom .
Avr prog needs a software - use Xtreme Burner.
You should know that long coding does not work with 12 12 0 , you need to use 11.11.5 for coding with same dump.
ok one last question. Can i reflash atmega with ktag? it use the same cable? i can buy avr programmer but i will have to wait. I have ktag in my hands? can i use it to flash eeprom like on the ECU?
and can i flash newer version of the vcds on this cable? for example 14 or newer? i need to find dumps for it. So flash ftdi(.ept with Mprog), next atmega with flash and eeprom (via external programmer) ? Thanks! Do you have some working for sure dump files( i mean when there is a group for "Fuel Temperature" to write it full, not only Temperature"? Thanks!

the software: vag 908 and vag912 beta dont start on win 10. what can i do? is it possible to update my old cable to use newer vag com software?

Here are flash dumps for latest VAG-COM original + flash dump of China clone FW 1.96 with protection chip. All firmwares are disassembled. It's quite easy to decrypt HCC196.bin (old 512 byte bootlader) from install directory. I'm working on other tools such as FLASH and EEPROM dumper via USB, so it can be read even with fuse bits set.
BTW according to FW source code - fuse bits are not read by firmware itself, so it doesn't care if the fuse bits are set or not.
HCC196.bin is for old HW type (0x44) with PORTA.2 and PORTA.3 connected to GAL
HP196.bin is for new HW type (0x46) - not decryptable yet (no public). May be this type is used in China clone. CN Clone dump is not the same as HCC196.bin.
As I know - protection chip doesn't protect ATMega (according to schematic I don't know how it can protect it) but is used as a "key" for cracked VCDS distributed with VAG-COM. It communicates with VCDS loader through RTS/CTS pins of FTDI. If VCDS loader finds the protection chip, it then unlocks communication with ATMega, creates d1-d3 files and starts VCDS.
