    Thanks

Yes, you can install multiple versions of vcds in separate directories. Must use compatible loader with flashed firmware/eeprom to all vcds versions if you don't want to reflash loader before using vcds.

Maybe this cable was able to run 409.1 vag com , but won.t work with vcds. Buy a new a full cip cable, this is antique hardware, no offence.

    Hello guys,

So, a week after making my interface stable by resoldering the Atmega, it became unstable again (it did not repond to queries from vcds or the hw identifier tool (while powered by 12Vcc).

As a result i've bought another Atmega, soldered it in, programmed it and surprise suprise, now i got a short to ground on K1.

I've replaced all the transistors (MMBT3904) with new ones, checked the film resistors (473/683) and they seem to be ok.

I've checked voltage between odb2 plug, pin 7 and ground, and got 0.6V

What else can i check for this `K1 short to ground` issue?
(The led blinks red since the interface is powered up and remains red after testing in vcds. Power supplied is 12Vcc power supply, so no connection to a real car.)

    Thanks!

There was a short due to 7805 pass through holes not having enough/good conductive material, so the back of the pcb did not receive +12Vcc. Now it seem to work ok. Thanks xoom!

I just managed to crash my clone interface when VCDS v18 offered to upgrade the firmware from 1.84 to 1.96 and the firmware upgrade process stopped at 8%.

Now VCDS doesn't recognize the interface at all

    What can I do?

I have bought the following interface which has a ATMEGA 162:

    2018-06-27 18.35.38.jpg

    2018-06-27 18.35.57.jpg

    It doesn't get detected using kolimer's VAGCOM_HWType.exe.

What can I do to make it work with the kolimer's Loader v6.3?

Ia a clone, OK? NEVER use a clone with other original \/ ( |) S for update or using.
In your case use AVR USB programer and restore your's cable.
Read this from page 1 and see how to do this.
    Or..search fantomel's procedure.

I did exactly what you said (AVR USB programmer) and it worked

    Thank you!!
