Tearing my hair out with this one. Car came in after parking brake had stuck on. AA had powered motor manually as you do to release it and told the customer it needed a new EPB switch. Customer fetched a switch but as it turned out the switch was ok. There are 4 return wires to the EPB module from the switch. 2 for apply and 2 for release. All voltages returned were ok but the EPB module could only see 3 of them changing. Obviously module faulty. Instead of getting a 20 quid 2nd hand one and cloning the customer wanted a brand new 200 quid module as it was under AA warranty. Module comes and is fitted. Now the calibration process looks simple. As per Jags instructions disconnect battery, connect back up, start engine, press foot brake 5 times, press foot brake and hold the lift EPB switch. Then nowt happens. Just sits there and nothing changes. No sound of EPB operating. EPB motor can still be operated by powering manually. Foot brake switch working on live data as are the 4 returns from EPB switch. 1 fault code on EPB saying config error B2477 I think. Car is a 2005. Dash says press foot brake and apply parking brake. Nothing about calibration but instructions say it could be either. Could there be 2 different modules and we have been supplied wrong one. Anyone got any ideas. Does EPB module need VIN putting in before it will calibrate.

Thanks for that. I have a clone JLR138 so I'll have a go with that. I told the dumpling to get a cheap replacement module and clone it. But hey ho. Thanks again m8.
