hi all .
I have a Canter a 2004 model 3.9 diesel.
The problem is that when its revs to approx 2000 rpm or above and the throttle is realesed
the revs take appox 20 seconds to drop to normal idle.
Under 2000 revs all seems to operate ok.
Have replaced throttle sensor (fly by wire)and have done various checks ie visual wiring etc and checked for restrictions in air pipes etc .
All help and ideas will be much appreciated .
Regards Todd

Hello Recorder................. Please share your fix so we can learn....................Thanks, Poptest
Sorry just looking at post on Canter and see i didnt give solution.
The fault was a sticking valve on the pump where it recives the fly by wire signsl .
Big Hex Nut with wires on Fuel pump.
Took it apart and cleaned needle valve and ran fine for 6 months then played up .
So replaced it at a cost of £300 andhas run fine ever since .
HTH somone
Please share same problem
Sorry guys dont have a picture.
It a big nut on the diesel pump approx 30-38 mm cant remember .
Its the other end to the fly by wire from the pedal it that helps.
there was a shim in the assembly and a needle which needed cleaning (dont lose shim)over 50 different sizes to get ideal speed so you lose it could take you a while to set it back up,
Hope this helps
