if its nec then the vvdi can calc key psw using 2 tokens.
is its motorola just read the mcu and generate keys.
so dont need to replace the EIS.
Hi everybody, i got a call from a customer with a 08 w164 all key lost, before i drive i thought i can use a little bit of help, so i will ask some questions that can probably help a lot of guys in this forum.
-first , i guess i will most likely find NEC eis in the car, do i have a way to know if its NEC just by the year?
-second, i know that maybe the only way of making a key is by replacing the eis with a new one and adapt it, do i need the exact same eis or just w164? When i get a used one do i need to get it withthe key in order to read the key pass? is there any other technique for this situation?
Any help will be appriciated, thank you.

Ok, and can i know by the year? So vvdi can calc w164 all key lost pass only for 09+, so it means that until this year its hc/st12 and since 09 its nec?
No, 2007 below is, or more like 2006/05 and below is motorola, above NEC . 07,08 are the years VVDI can not do if lost all. Must do VIRGIN EZS
so 07 and 08 are Nec as i thought, cant i use used renewed EZS?
if the car is 2008/06 then its 09- and vvdi can di it.
check what year/month the car was build.
otherwise try and see if it go or not.
