Default Direct recording with DK1 problem.

With DW2, I was able to do direct recording to a PC shared folder. With DK1, the shared folder is mounted ok, but when I press the record button from the web interface I get error; Recording stopped due to full harddisk. The shared folder has 50GB free space!

    Any ideas anyone?

Thanks for quick reply and pointing me in the right direction. It now works. Here's my experience; When I navigated to LocalDir /hdd/movie the green save option turned off. Telnet to /hdd and noticed there wasn't a movie directory. Created it. Made it read-write. LocalDir now allowed me to select /hdd/movie. Able to record, but now telnet shows the directory structure as /hdd/movie/movie. An extra dirctory had appeared. Deleted the lower level one and all is okay.

    Thanks.

l was going to say just try /hhd because l can only use that option and it makes the movie folder on its own ? not sure how

the pvr-record folder must be set differently in the code of the two images,
if the image knows the pvr-record folder is /hdd,, so will only record to and from that folder.. its nothing major, just need to use the different mount point,,
    boom!

I am pretty sure that the DK image has a /hdd/movie directory, extensive testing was done on the recording to make sure it worked.

    There's a guide here...

Guys sorry to be a pain but this is driving me crackers. I am a novice with these boxes and this is the 1st time I have tried to record. Really appreciate some help.

I have followed the sticky thread and set up my box to record to pc. Checked the web interface and the mount seems fine - green tick beside it. Also get confirmatory message saying mount successful on tv.

I have set up under record path hdd/movie. My box under mounts is set to Localdir /hdd - there is a sub folder named "movies" but I cannot get the name to display in the Localdir (Smirnoff if I am reading the thread below correctly seems to have a similar issue but his works ok).

When i try to record i get a message "Record failed due to inaccessible storage". Seems to suggest the folder i created on my pc has a problem but cant think what - has plenty free space.

Read the thread below (along with everything else i could find via search)

DM500 recording to shared folder not recognized...

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.
