I am presently working with DCT and trying to research many of the parameters used in my own engine's calibration file. I am hoping that someone with more experience than me can answer my questions. This thread can also be used for questions from other DCT users, which would add to the knowledge base to benefit all of us.
My first question concerns the so-called "Low NoX Programming": Is there a separate section within the cal file that deals with these parameters, or do they simply make changes to the "Shared" -> "CONTROL DATA" -> "BOI Control" parameters, or do they pertain to the parameters under "Shared" -> "CONTROL DATA" -> "Adaptive Timing"? I was told that, when my engine was rebuilt 2 years ago, the shop re-programmed it with the "Low NoX Programming" -- which is known to kill fuel mileage and power; however, now that I have access to the calibration file, I can see from the audit trail that no one has been in that ECM since it was originally programmed at the factory/ dealership -- there is only one tool ID listed, back in 1994.
So, my question would be -- how do I determine if this shop actually did re-program the ECM, or if they just lied & put a phony sticker on the valve cover?
Then, if they did actually re-program it, how do I remove/ reset that programming back to normal?
Thanks in advance for the answers!
