Hi there, i try to explain my situation detailed as i can ( please forgive for my english )

Im owner of an A6C5 year 2001, engine code : Ake, 132kw manual quattro
I aprox the third of forth owner, so it might have some modifications i did not know
Before two days ago, when i started the engine, my headlights and rear lights automaticaly turned On ( No need to switch from "0" to "1" on my light controller )
From yesterday when i start the engine, the lights didnt turn On (Headlights and rearlights) i also noticed the lights didnt light up on my dashboard , on audi symphony radio, on climatronic and the buttons above my head (light switch)
(Only few of them lighted up, see the photo i attached)
937692

I need to turn the switch from "0" to "1" , and only the headlights turned on, nothing else
So at night i must drive with a non functional rear lights, its pretty dangerous not onyl for me, for everybody, and also i cant almost see anything on my dashboard, buttons etc, so i really need to fix this as soon as possible

Can somebody provide me what kind of "mod" it might be installed on my audi, or where can i possibly find the problem
I wanna mention here few things, it might help to understand more my situation:
Fuses are ok, im an electrician, but i have only basic understanding on cars ( wirring etc )
if you look at the pic i posted, you can see the Green light icon didnt show up so the dashboard can notice that my headlights does not work, more interesting is when i turn the switch to 1, even when the headlights still working, the green icon didnt show up, but interestingly it shows the blue light icon when i am using the long range lights
2 times it went back to normal yeastarday for few hours, but today no luck

Hi
Only a magician would be able to tell you the mod made.

Have you check if it's a faulty switch? Though unlikely that would be the issue in this case
Have the car scanned for any fault codes

Hi fuzz1
I guess its not the switch because when i turn the switch to "1" it lights up only the headlights, te rear lights and all the buttons dashboard etc. still not working, so it makes no sense
No , i did not scann for fault codes, i do have Vcds Lite on my laptop, so i will give it a try right now
Ok, i know its hard to guess what mod its made there, im just wanna know at least where can i began ? what i need to check , maybe some wiring or i dont know ...
... or , i knew an old guy, he is better known to make diagnostics on car, finding problems and fixing them, do you preffer i let the work for him ? its more time saving for me ?

Update: i checked via vcds, no errors

hi, you need to check the power supply, I'm sending a diagram, you gave a little bit of information, the type of headlights, Audi has no green light on the board
it is possible what my friend fuzz1 wrote

If you don't have experience it's not only time consuming but can be expensive.
