Friend,
i ask if you modified edc16 with mpps ,bcos someone told me that car have diagnosis problem later that file has been witre with mpps.
I always used up now bdm and i have old mpps v .100.
I need only to know if u tried diagnosis or not.

hi , with mpps v.100 you can only read the 320D edc16 , but you can't write it , you have to got the 3.0.2.3 to write !

Sure i diagnose before and after tuning. How else can you deliver good work?

No problems the thing is if you put ecusafe read protection on it failss on diagnose read. have to test latest ecusafe update for that. but if you don't put read protection. there is no problem.

Yes m8, mpps its realy k-line and can bus interface, but look, in my mpps says that i can read and write 1.3 multijet, but look, the original mpps have some bugs too, i think this clone works perfectly like the original, but we dont know if original makes that car too...

when i told that have bug for 1300 mj i saw for genuine interface and mayhbe have now too.
But block 1 ecu of mjet isn't the same of block 1 bmw.

they update new cars,
and old car not work anymore.
This is normal,
i work with picmicro and in some project i want to remove little bug and later i see that ive made big bug.
In other only the time and people can test.

One ecu of punto came blocked when you programm
this is the fiat number of ecu 5518608.
mpps support mjet+ only in writing

Powergate is no better than mpps. mpps can do more. read it straight into computer.
No need to read it from car into powergate unit, into pc, back to powergate, into car.

I wanna try something but not destroy my interface.

I already saw i have blacklisted interface 41 31 38 33....so,where is stored this serial?

I think that we should make a backup of MCU (C8051F340) dump. I think that the serial number is stored inside. When my MPPS damaged after update, SN is FFFFFFFF . Update lock the clone tools.


I dont think,that backup will be easy...as i read that like atmega mcu it has a lockbit,if this is enabled write read editing is not allowed...to read or write i you need first to delete data from mcu to be able read or write something.

Does anybody know whit what programmer this mcu can be read? And how it has to be wired up?

I start really believe,the 180 euro Clone from Viaken is not updateable...after edit software...to not get banned interface on newer soft,MPPS soft 1.0.2.8 starts but shows 00000000 as serial...go back to 1.0.0.100...and shows correct serial 41 31 38 33:banghead:

So i tryed,install 3.0.2.3...seems to be the on to install first for cloned MPPS...but no succses...got error1....thinking this error occurs only by unplugged MPPS...plugged MPPS to PC...and error1 persists.

So maybee i have to change my point of viev,and buy some portugese interface:idea:....a friend of me runs the last update on his clone...


But other question??? What ecus can V1.0.0.100 do?

MED9? theyre fine...some audi edc16 ok?

that is what i try to say. mpps don't do the checksumm but the ols299 and shiftec do it for the tool.

you can do it with winols1.5 or other and flash it with powergate. powergate can make checksum.

you can look for tuner and propose you pay a fee to share it...

What ever you to buy good clone, you need to check is that Chinese product or not, no mater who is selling it.

Has anyone even promlem this? I have the MPPS of Viaken.pl Flasher. I have to update software Mpps_Setup_1.0.0.100 Mpps_Setup_1.0.2.8 it all works. Then have to update Mpps Setup 3.0.0.17 was also 100% ok. After this I wanted to upgrade to new software Mpps_Setup_3.0.2.19, will not do. (ERROR12) and Unit Serial No. FFFFFFFFF ??????. I then again Mpps Setup 3.0.0.17. The program will not start. (Open??). Can you help me?? Thank you.:idea:



To update the MPPS Flashers must make you, the date set to 2005. After Flasher with 13.8 volt power adapter to connect OBD2 plug! Mpps_Setup_1.0.2.8 software instalation and open Flasher makes an update! after that he wants new driver instalation. Confirm with yes. After the Instalation Mpps_Setup_1.0.2.8 he works with. To be on Mpps Setup 3.0.0.17 update can you must do the same !!!!!!!!:rolleyes:

A new version of the MPPS Software has been released. In this version there are some minor changes in the software the only large change is for the Generic Boot Mode Driver that now lets you decide if the chip is a 1Mb or a 512k. This is of great help when the software in the ECU has a problem and the MPPS can't work out the size of the chip. Now you can tell it and solve the problem allowing recovery of even more damaged ECUs.

I think its a great update ;) isnt it?

hello, the old mpps with 1.0.0.100 version can be update until version 3.0.0.17, after all updates will block the interface so dont try it.
to update:
after having the 1.0.0.100 instaled (never install other version first time it will block)
1- install the version 1.0.2.8
2- change pc date before 02/2010
3- plug the usb cable and see if above it make the firmware update (install driver if asked).
4- you can try read a ECU
5- disconect usb smps
6- install V3.0.0.17
7- conect cable usb and run software
8- it will update firmware
9- in the screen it will ask a code, copy the code that is in this screen
10- close the software
11- open the software
12- put the copied code in the ask code.
13- try to read

note this update is not alowed by the chinese supplier, if the smps block the waranty is not covered.

The 3.0.0.17 version is more instable then 1.0.0.100 I put here this info but not recomend enyone to do this update.

Theres a new clone for mpps with new hardware, it cames directly with V3.0.02.19 software.

I have 2 old smps blocked, I need also information for reprograming them.

i try to make gsmtech cable and viaken box work with parts of my clone. and software works. but not possible to write the ecu's that came later in the carlist.

I updated now from Viaken MPPS V1.0.0.100 to

1.0.2.8 made FW update....try read ECU edc15 at table NP

3.0.0.17 made FW update..try read write ecu at table NP

Then i have tryed to update to 3.0.2.14 and 3.0.2.19,but get asked that code..which has to be copied and close soft,reopen and paste code...but for 3.0.2.14/19 this does no longer work...how to modify the code to get MPPS starting?:banghead:

Btw, this morning i made scirocco tdi (edc17) work with mpps and bootcable.! works like a charm. no resset after vas connection.

first attempt a few weeks ago (straight to obd) was bad. but now with bootcable on the bech, it works super.
184hp and 390Nm on the dyno...

i also explain here. recognizing software is one thing. making s-mps flashing edc16c39 or edc17 is another.
write will fail.

i tryed the mcu from good clone om gsmtech cable and on viaken clone. Not working. software yes. write saab 93 ecu NO. software say ok. write stop on 9%

mcu in good clone write 100%

so mechanical/electrical restriction is more important than software.

just hack the software so it don't need cable serial should be more easy to do than dumping the mcu.

I have all my tuning tools running on xp pro sp3, i must mention i have verry little problems. I had driver problem with kess v2 when i got it. but that was solved by alientech the second day...

I used the driver edc16 stilo this does not work, bad driver, the mpps drivers are used edc16c8 or c9.
I was forced to reflash with a digiflasher pro (driver edc16c39) ...

not galletto,
this is clone of old magpro2 but working no good,
no communication with many ecu from list and quality very bad (china),
my friend have this and very dissatisfied !

have now bayed directly from germany 10 pcs of mpps for me and my friends here in bosnia, i can only say quality is 1A+ but i have had no doubt in quality since it is made in germany and you know the germans....

but i am not interested many whats inside, the best thing is that it works till now with friends tried:

audi 1.9 tdi edc16u34 - without problems

fiat stilo 1.6 16v - without problems

peugeot 407 1.6 hdi fap - without problems

golf 5 edc16u1 - without problems

citroen c5 edc15c2 - without problems

bmw e60 edc16 - read/write without problems

the hardware software configuration/build don't allow killing it without also killing originals

Some guys here even posted printscreens where the serial is not even covered.
And still they are not blocked.

Yep. From outside they all seem same,but the pics from EXXL seems to be great workmen...the michel seems more that some 6 years old child soldered the components on it:congrats:

For the work of EXXL interfaces: Respect! Having a project like this is one thing,do a great Work like this is something else

Cant be done.

Viaken asks 50 euro for update to 3.0.2.27...because V100 locks...but anyway...V1.0.0...will not be able doing all cars in list..you will never do siemens ppd,edc16 bmw edc17...

Poeple may hear something,but dont need know everything.

It s better for them,not to know much...i think.
