What is better for flashing ecu galleto or mpps ?

Started to work with the Silabs C2 developer kit for the C8051F340, well, due to MCU protection, reading any existing MPPS like 3.0.2.27 (or any other MPPS Flash) is disabled. Rewriting the whole Flash works fine.

In my eyes, one approach is to optain a valid bin from existing clones to patch and rewrite with changed serial; the other is to concentrate on the ecucrypt protected MPPS EXEs and patch several device/serial checkings.

Will continue to have a closer look on both path, any existing bin for the MPPS will be helpfull to test flashing and modifications. The bootloader parts are running fine so far ...

All clones are built by flashing into the MCU an old flash of mpps v1.0.0.x, and then upgraded to v3.0.2.37. When you upgrade to v3 you need the unique ID KEY for that serial number. After you upgrade to v3 the dump inside the MCU is changed and you can't read anymore. serial ending in 36 is blocked after 3.0.2.37 and serial ending 34 is blocked after 3.0.3.38. The only way to do it is to be able to read dump after upgrade and study it.

You might disable this protection,but by updating fw,this will reset the security bits,and u cant read again..

Uprade from 3.0.27, with patched serial, to the latest 5.0.1.10 peformed basically fine - at least no error msg or bricked unit.

The soft seems to behave like expected, except this little "Version Information" popup says: This unit is a clone.

Any ideas what caused this msg or if any reduced functionality is implied from this indication?

i have updated mine with new mcu and for lower price then this above and i can download latest soft from official page - currently 5.0.1.10 working :) how long it will last i dont know but till now working perfekt and it is more secure solution for working since it is like original no cracks

You are lucky winner. You can order new mpps or buy some mcu with working previous fw,you cannot go back to older sw version.

Nobody sayd you can update every mpps to 5.x without having issues.
By reading the threT you should see,update to 5 requires new mcu or cracked installer,but this installer u wont find it free on net.

your interface MPPS is black list.
but you can find full dump into the memory computer.
before save to file , open winhex, open ram, open process mpps, open primary memory and find star your dump.
end dumps will be : xxxxxxxx+000FFFFF
copy and past to a new file and save it.
it can make to MPPS 5.0.10 too!

Update to 4.0.1.9 is relatively simple - we have tested intensively with original software and it is OK, but more update won't work without loader. Anyway we have also tested in a few ECU's 5.0.1.10 with loader and software is very stable, all ECU's were read / flashed OK.
For now we will have to wait for the next move of the AMT-Catech guys, but I guess the project is dead already.

up to now you can find at least one solution with the loader!

PCB is problem 99%. You know my friend who makes my devices. From 100 PCBs, 10 must be thrown.

One way to avoid throwing away so much PCBs is to order them, without the green stuff over it. This way you can always put some soldering material over and repair in minutes. Another problem with the PCB may be the crosspoints from one part to the other.

If you are not too cheap you can order your PCBs to be tested at the PCB manufacturer... optically and electrically. It costs a few cents per PCB. Easy way to avoid throwing away pricey components.

You will brick it. You need new mcu for updating it.

Your mpps is recognised as clone,and downgradet to slave,and need an packed file from master(in this case from amt cartech) which you can really easy write to ecu.

Best way would be reflash mcu,or replace it.

There are solutions to update old mpps to 5.0.1.10 by replacing or reflashing mcu.
By usb not possible.

If you get the right mcu;) you can update to new version from amt cartech:D

Did you think to is so easy edit DUMP for MCU ?
No M8 it is not just cut copy paste ....
All cracked MPPS SW not work as must work so you need good DUMP not cracked SW.

I have done 3opel astra edc16c39 with mpps clone 5.0.0.10 updated from an 1.0.0.100 full succes every time.

I also wrote 1astra same ecu with mpps 3.0.2.37 updatet to last fw,sw.

I also flashed a lot of edc16c9 / edc16c39 via mpps. Everything was ok every time. I like that in some edc16c9 it even reads. Other tools if detects ECU is c9 don't enable the possibility to read. Best regards!

I delete from program clone checking procedure. This updater can't damage (erase) mpps. It can do only (theoritical) MPPS software. So i need any working version MCU dump for MPPS and i can make it working without clone checking and disable all clone checking.

This is how i received the solution from my suppier, is official software just a loader run first, is working 100% never a fail or a software crash which is good enough for me :)
