Can anyone help with this ? My ecu was repaired at ecu testing in 2019 , now it had p0100 error and they say it’s unrepairable. When I got it back I opened it and I found they put a trimmer on the pins for the IAT sensor. The IAT was being reported 10 degrees less than external temperature , I tried to adjust it with the trimmer and now the data is 3 degrees less than external temp. Example ext 18 deg IAT 15 deg. I also replaced the blades with new ones and I still have the p0100 error. I don’t know what else to try. The car was burning too much petrol.
here is a picture of the mafs before replacing the blades. The plastic behind the IAT sensor seems melted. What would you do? Does anyone know what is inside the plastic ?
Does buying a used ecu to take the mafs and out in mine make sense?

yep, you MAF is dead(have a circuit problem) i think problem is under the plastic which is in the photo, buy another ECU with good MAF and replace it.

problem is when you buy this ECU used you don’t know if the mafs is good and since you find only very old unit chances is it’s not.

I know about it, but you don't have much choice: either buy an old ECU or buy a new one for HUGE money. or try to find a new MAF by part number.

The part is impossible to find. I’ll try a used ecu probably.

I bought a known good ECU . My options are to move the mafs to mine or move the chip to the new one. I don’t know if there could be something on my motherboard that is frying the mafs making it better option to move the chip.
ideas?

Here’s what happened. Got an ecu, swapped eeprom car starts and immediately stops. After trying some times car is dead completely. Put back eeprom in my ecu and moved the mafs from new one to old ecu. Car starts and stops immediately as with the new ecu. I tried only 2 times and then removed the ecu, put back old mafs. Car starts. What the heck!?

did you check if there are error codes reported from the ecu?
Perhaps you can measure the resistance of the old maf and the new one. There are reports in a german forum that there could be differences

The error stored in my flash is p0100. I cleared it before desoldering and soldering to the new ecu. No errors after that and car never started but without “start error”. After putting back in my old ecu with also old mafs p0100 reappeared. The resistance is the same in old and new mafs. What german forum ?

Today I received another ecu from A160. Same numbers on the label. Tried to swap flash, car starts and stops. Put flash back on my unit and put mafs from the new one. Same thing, car starts and stops. What the heck ?!?! Could it be the flash on my unit was modified by “Ecu Testing” in uk when I sent for repair? Or does the adaptation need to be reset or car won’t work ?!
