Hi, I've got an odd error in my CAS2 module which I believe is preventing me from adding keys using BMW explorer. Car is a 2004 e61.
The code is 9304 Eeprom_CRC_Info.
When I go to key learning, after reading it comes back with no key info and no option to write new keys.
I'm also reluctant to use r270 to read it after it failed to read a donor cas module. I have the red pcb inside the r270 and I'm not sure it's up to the job.
The car still starts fine with the current keys but im obviously worried this may cause a problem in the future.
Anyone came across this error before? I did flash the module recently using winkfp after the car wouldn't start and suspect this may have been the cause. Any input is welcome.
Cheers.

I've been reading that the isn is taken from the egs, if this is correct that would make sense why the crc info isn't there. I flashed the cas with winkfp while the gearbox module wasnt powering up with an unrelated issue. Can someone confirm is this sounds right and if so how would I restore the information with bmw explorer or another method? I may flash the cas again with the egs module now working if it comes to it but want to avoid that at all costs as I've heard horror stories. I'd be grateful for any input.

you would share the CAS readings, unless you want to answer your own questions

Managed to read eeprom and flash with xprog, couldnt get r270 to play ball at all. I've written the eeprom file on to a donor cas and dash lights up when the key is inserted but cranks without starting. I haven't synced the dme/cas yet as I want to know what steps and in what order to do next. My original cas still works but cant write news keys in e/f scanner (see pics).
I suspect when I flashed the original cas with a newer version I've lost the option to write keys so dont want to do the same with the donor.
The donor cas still has it's original flash, I take it if I update the flash with a newer version I'll lose ability to program keys too? What's my next step, do I need to find the original flash file or can I upgrade then write the eeprom from the dump after to get the option back. Or am I out of luck permanently to program a new key to this car?954946

This is solved, I'll write what I did for anyone else looking to do this. I assume this section is only for repairing dumps judging by the lack of help but I'll put up the solution that worked for me to help anyone else. I'm a diyer and my cars have little to no value, I do these things purely for fun and as a learning experience.
Read eeprom with xprog and bdm adapter off original cas.
Write eeprom to donor cas. Ignore flash, it's not required and easy to brick the cas when writing.
Open r270 software and load binary file using your eeprom file.
Click eis calculator and note the mileage, change mileage if required then save binary file.
Use hitag2 and read new key ide only then click advanced functions/bmw.
Click key maker/open eeprom file, add new key into appropriate new key slot and then save modified eeprom file.
Write new eeprom file back to donor cas using xprog and attach it to car.
Open inpa, open car access system then sync motor/cas.
Take key out for a minute then put back in and you should be able to start the car.
Put original cas back or donor (new key will work with original now too).
Sync the fob by turning the key to position 1 then to 0 within 5 seconds.
Press and hold the unlock button while clicking lock button 3 times.
Remote should be synced and new key added.
Ef scanner/bmw explorer would probably be an easier solution but doesn't work if you've updated your flash file and finding old daten is near impossible to downgrade, it's also a risky process. Feel free to delete if not allowed on forum
