Hello, I am in need of help.
I have a 2006 Toyota Highlander ecm #89661-48A91
3MZ-FE 6cyl engine
it is a non immobilizer vehicle the ecm was replaced with a used unit that had immobilizer on it
it is a no start.
I have not been able to locate the correct ic to read the eeprom info.
all of the information doesn't match what I am seeing on either ecm board
I would like to know the location on the board and ic number any help or thoughts that you might have.
Sorry I am new to this site and wasn't sure where to post.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Where are you located? Each region is different. In the US they didn't make a nonimmo Highlander in 06.
Are you sure your’s doesn't?

Thanks for your reply.
I am in us Tennessee. this was a base Highlander and it was one of the few without immo it has a plane key no chip.
I have had both ecms apart and I have two choices on ic c5664 it is located @ T101

C5664 is an injector driver.
RA57 is the eeprom.
What's the part numbers on your ecus?
The 06 highlander Immo wasn't in the ecu. It was in the transponder ecu.
Where in TN?

I understand it is not in ecu. however the only thing that was replaced was this engine ecu with the same part number.
I guess i don't understand why replacing an engine ecu with a different one would activate immoblizer that is not installed on this vehicle.
question, do you think it has the immobilizer and just not activated? The key is a blank key ( no chip) and somehow when I changed the ecu it had it programmed from the donar car? I will search on the car for the immobilzer module.

If the ecu was from an immobilizer car it would be looking for the immo unit. And if your car had an immo unit they aren't married together.
