Fiat Punto Key program

I ve a Fiat Punto from 2006 with Delphi BSI
Car was a week not been used after that car not start. Immo light is on
Read Pin and tried to program new key. All went wel and keys is programmed with AVDI and Lonsdor
But immo light is still on when turn key off and on. Coil of the ignition is good. Car not cranck.
Any idea where to look? Bsi corrupted?

ive seen this issue on alot of old grand punto , on most it was resolved at a garage and was due to water ingress on underside of engine fuse box and wiring , on some it was the ignition housing electrics faulty , a new ignition housing solved the issue .

but theres many things it can be and normally electrical system , everyone assumes its the key when the lock light stays on , most of the time it isnt.

I'm surprised how many people think that key reprogram will sort non starting problems

Every week I have call's to reprogram keys as someone told them that this will sort the problem

yup this is a common miss diagnosis from recovery services and garages , and can be expensive wasted visits to rule out the key as the issue as they dont want to pay if you dont fix it .

a key should never need re-programming and is almost never the issue they have , asking the right questions on the phone can weed out the non key issues , but if they want me to attend theres a service call and diagnostic session fee to pay up front , this deters the just rule the key out brigade for me free .
