Ive got my dm500c set up with a samsung 23" LCD (LE23R41B) - tv is a 16:9 widescreen

Naturally as my tv is widescreen and is set on auto wide thru the tv menu, i went into my dreambox and set the output to 16:9 widescreen, however the picture seems stretched vertically to me, if i go in and change to 4:3 on the dreambox i get borders at the top and bottom, but the picture looks much better to me

How can this be?

The program is probably recorded in 4:3 and by setting it to 16:9 on the dreambox, you're stretching it. Maybe...I'm not sure lol.

Depending on the image, it will tell you what the ratio if the program is on the infobar. The DK image does. ;)
