could i use 320i ecu file for my 318i ? they are both mev946

so can i flash it to the 320i ?

simple, if you flash different HW to ecu, then you will brick it.

He won`t brick ECU in this case and will be able to successfully flash an ECU as 318i and 320i use the same HW, but the car won`t work correctly.

yea i need to change intake manifold and exhaust as far as i know... also saw that the throttle body has different OEM number, so i guess throttle body also; not sure about that
