Hello Guys, information about MQB Skoda Fabia proximity with start button year 2017. Tried Smart Pro, refused to do the job. Did not delete existing keys, just said not possible. Even if it is listed in my keys pro. Took VVDI2
with old MQB license, not new MQB48 license.

1)read eeprom and save
2)read immo data and save
3) make dealer key with immodata, success!
4)Tried to program one oem key and one aftermarket key 0/2 fail!

Did not work, VAG mechanic sad remove plastic cover from steering wheel and program directly to coil??

Had a VW Passat B8 Proximity year 2017, did not work with smart pro. Stoppt there, did not want to pay any more.

Anyone else with experience from MQB?

No I did not understand I had to remove plastic from steering wheel and program keys directly in to coil.

On Passat is little bit better to find the right position on the key

but on Fabia is real nihgtmare even when you take out the coil ring

Yes all the smart key volkswagen products are a bit finicky with the coil and the key position, especially with aftermarket keys. The coil on the Fabia isn't too bad to get at though, take the steering wheel surround top and bottom cover off and it's slotted into a recess on the bottom cover.

Your Passat probably has a JCI cluster which isn't supported by OBD.

Yes has VDO/JCI MQB Cluster . Checked with VW Number is 3G0920751C. Think this can be done with xhorse new MQB48 activation and pin lifting. Anyone did this?

Last time im add mqb half keyless to Octavia 2016, dash VDO. When program dealer key (0/2) must put key very close ignition area. Im try 7-8 times before it accepted. Or try dissamble pcb from key or take off cover from sterring whell. This car hawe very low immo antena range.

It's on the Xhorse support list, yes you'll have to lift pin 3 or cut tracks to read. Reading the dashboard has a non-zero risk involved due to the way security works on these processors(all tools warn you before reading). Be certain of your soldering and follow the instructions and you should be fine, apparently all the tool suppliers can send you a fixed file to recover dashboards bricked during the read process but hope you don't end up with that. I've done a few now with xhorse and no issues yet. Someone I know just did one with poldiag and once again no issues.

2 days ago I tried to read VW Polo dash from scrap yard with the new Autel adapter and fail after that tried with Xhorse and pin 3 went off

Now I think are the Xhorse or Autel support will send me the right pin 3 to replace it :)

Very funny mate!

You might still be able to salvage that dashboard with some enameled wire if there's a bit of the pin left.

But you're right, I don't think they can salvage a physically damaged dashboard over the internet, I'm more referring to a blanked dashboard caused by an error during reading.

Hello Spiritech, which method did you use, lift pin or cut tracks?

Hello Spiritech, which method did you use, lift pin or cut tracks?

All the ones I've done have been QFP processors and I've done the pin lift method. I lift the pin very slightly off the board, then slide some thin plastic underneath it so it sits fairly much where it wants without too much force applied to it, then solder a short length of enameled wire to it, which i tape to the top of the processor, then solder the wires from the tool to that and the PCB. The pin breaks off when you try and lift it way off the board, or have the big wire from the tool hanging off it, by isolating it from the board with plastic but letting it sit where it usually sits + a short jumper wire to the tool wiring that doesn't move makes it much safer in regards to breaking off the pin.

I prefer lifting the pin to the track cutting method as when I'm finished you can't tell anything was done.

Little more thinking about MQB and BCM2
-Keys for Visteon cluster(virtual cluster) possible?
-Keymaster.PL or poldiag better then xhorse? Try contact this
people many times, calling, e-mail, no answer? Why?

-I have barracuda, can make some JCI cluster. But now not need,
Can make same with xhorse? Or not? When buy was free, now
must pay 200Euro a year.

-Risks with adapter or soldering on bench with BCM2 is if any
Connection loosen during writing, you will end up with bricked unit.
Regarding MQB encrypted it would be if braking pin3.

Better with some test dash from scrap yard rather than with customers dash…
At the end it not only a good practice, but also good experience… Next time you know better to do it…

If the Autel solution is free or low cost and the calculation is straightaway maybe will try again but no way to take out the dash to lift pin to pay $100 for data

Hello Manta1600, with xhorse if lift pin on encrypted MQB, have to pay 100USD to get immo data, or is it just sync data if all keys lost? J

Pin lift & reading of nec 35xx gives you immo data, sync data needs to be purchased from a third party supplier in case of AKL.

I bought a skrap yard MQB cluster golf 2017. It is very good idea, before messing with customers cluster. It is very small, need electronic microscope. Also soldering skill has to be very high. Otherwise do not do it. Regards J

Agreed my friend! This is a serious soldering job and needs practise before doing works on a paying customer board. This is a relatively high risk procedure even with good soldering skills.

Here in sweden new cluster is 1060,00GRP and on top of that you must pay for work and programming. Maybe have to pay for rental car to. This is probably as difficult as it gets with key programming. I succeded in both lifting pin and cutting board, but I failed to read with keytool plus. Probably becaurse the skrap yard cluster from Golf 7, year 2017 was not encrypted. Regards J

It works fine on the older clusters too. One of my test clusters was from a 2014 Golf 7.
