Hi, I've got a problem after replacing radio in my Opel Astra J (MY12). Car was produced for Hungary as I've seen in online catalogues and sold as new in Serbia. It doesn't have any accessories connected to the radio (voice commands - RPO code UPH, PDIM module for USB and Bluetooth), it only has AUX in 3.5 mm socket.
I removed my factory fitted CD 400 (RPO code UZZ, GM 22800670) and fitted a used CD 400 Plus (RPO code UNM, GM 557799431, with Bluetooth and USB, without DAB) from Vauxhall Astra J (MY15) from UK.
Old: 978828 New: 978827
Before fitting the radio, a friend of mine has changed the VIN in EEPROM, as we seen some tutorial on YT. We didn't change CRC.
I've plugged a mini USB OTG cable directly to the radio and I've added a cable for the microphone to the main connector (I will add a generic microphone with 3.5 mm connector later).
After fitting the radio, almost everything works fine, CD, CD mp3, AUX in, music via Bluetooth (A2DP), phone, but I can't use USB. Only issue with phone options is that my phonebook and call lists are not always visible. I am using Samsung Galaxy A14 with Android 13 and I have about 700 contacts all stored in Outlook, and I have 2 SIM cards in use. I gave permissions for Calls, Audio and Contacts. Not a big issue, since the search option on the radio is pretty basic, only by the first letter...
The big issue is USB. I tried with several USB sticks, 4 and 8 GB, formatted in FAT (FAT16) and in FAT32, with only a few files in root folder. When I press the AUX button the display says "No AUX device connected". I've tried with pressing the CD button, but it plays CD if present, otherwise I get the message that there is no CD... I have read the user manual for CD 400 Plus, for MY15...
A guy that sold me the radio has no idea, he says that the USB was working when he tried before buying the radio (buying parts from scrapped imported cars is very common in Serbia, he deals with the radios and multimedia). He told me to come here for help and he also found me a topic on some Russian forum where a guy had the same problem - radio with the same SW and HW date moved from Vauxhall to Opel - didn't show USB. As I understood he flashed the radio with new firmware by using diagnostic tool GM MDI. I did a lot of research, I have read all threads about CD400 here and a lot of threads on other Opel/Vauxhall forums in UK, Russia, Poland, etc. but I didn't find anything.
My friend tried with some universal diagnostic tool, but we didn't find anything useful...
