i have a Belkin wireless router which works fine but recently i have tried to connect an older desktop wirelessly with no succes. i guess i would need some sort of dongle to plug into the desktop but can anybody point me in the right direction as to exactly what i may need? Thanks for any help

Its a wireless dongle. Turns your computer into a reciever for wireless internet. Readily available anywhere I just bought mine from Argos it was around ?30 but they do go cheaper. 'USB Dongle' :).

You could also get a set of these (http://www.rboffers.com/computers/belkin-f5d4076uk-powerline-hd-1gbps-gigabit-homeplug-network-kit-89-99-play-35203.html/) they'll run your bb connection tru the wiring of your house.
Plug into your socket and have ethernet cable attached from your modem,then plug in the second one in any other room and have your ethernet lead coming from that into your pc/laptop or tv receiver....dead handy.
