VW Scriocco mk2 doesnt start

ive got a volkswagen scirocco mk2, 1.6 GT, carb, but it doesnt seem to want to start. The engine turns over but thats about it. There is no sound of it wanting to start.
I took the fuel pipes off from the engine and cranked it and it doesnt seem as if any fuel is being pumped through. Could it be the fuel pump?
Any common problems on this model?

possible fuel pump or split in feed hose.

possible a fuel pump,take it off a check it out!!!
also check a spark plugs

if he did not get it going i think he scrapped it lol

lol it was too good to scrap changed the fuel pump and it ran fine.
