There are 3 different 7935 transponders:
pcf 7935 AS - original - not more on the market. If you find it it costs about 50€ per 1 piece (at least in Germany).
pcf 7935 AA - good transponder. At the moment replacing AS version. But some of them sometimes have problems.
pcf 7935 aftermarket - not good for cars with EWS system (BMW, mini…).

vvdi super chip doesn’t work at all on EWS system.
there is also Vvdi transponder xt15, which should work on EWS system, but didn’t had a chance to test it…

super chip xt27a not good, super chip xt27B ok,

that's wrong info
xt27a is all we got here in UK and imagine Poland.

I've done a few BMW and all ok - not to say i won't have an issue as this is aftermarket!

I always use XT15 for ews and it works nice, without failing so far, did over 15 cars...
XT27A is only superchip currently available for buying, XT27B not manufactured. Superchip should work fine with EWS if key generated using VVDI2..
China pcf7935 only good on opel cars and some others but on EWS and benz not good at all.

Everyone says something different. I'm really happy I have some original 7935 left in stock but only 10 pieces max so shortly will have lack of stock and then I don't really know what and how to do EWS with those aftermarket chips.

lol me too, I keep around 15, but I use them when it is the very last option

Superchip, often failed me, used as 7935.
I ordered a few Xhorse 7935, and will try these on ews cars.

Adding key to dump works better. Instead of writing key data, to the superchip.
In the case off ews, we useally dont write a altered dump to ews.

Like id40 opel, those superchips 7935 for ews 3 are not coded right with xhorse tools.

Can also confirm that the XT15 works fine so far. Had no issues and did quite a few BMW and Mini's. Other 7935 had trouble with them from not working, failing after few starts or too weak and only picking up if position in key 'exactly' on one certain position (with risk of no start after a while) .

Hi, this chips XT15 must be precoded for BMW or can i use directly? Thankyou.

I use them directly with vvdi2… no need precoding…

What is the matter with these chips, are they different ID44 ID43 ID40 and everything PCF7936AA? And the EWS3 dump, what key position should I select when writing the key?

PCF 7935 is basic transponder.
And all other versions like ID 40 for Opel or ID 42/ 44 for VW can be precoded from basic 7935 to certain brand/ model.

If you want to do BMWs, you need or PCF 7935 AS or AA.
At the moment those 2 versions not possible to find.
If you find it, they cost a really lot of money (before was 1 piece 5€ and now about 50€).
So to save money buy yourself xhorse XT15 and use it for BMW.

On the market you can find 7935 aftermarket transponders.
They are good for Opel as ID40 or VW as ID42/44.
Just don’t use them on BMWs. They don’t work.

As far as I have found out, there are 10 keys stored in EWS3, of which only 6 can be active.

I have a dilemma, to which position can I add a key based on the dump from EWS3?

Is it possible to type in the inactive position and then activate the key using ISTA?

Remove EWS from car. Open it and read MCU with programmer like AK90.
If you have pcf7935 AS transponder you can use AK90 to program new transponder.
If you have XT15 transponder use vvdi 2 to program new transponder.
Load eeprom file (MCU that you read) into EEPROM programmer.
Select unused position, put new transponder into programmer, click program. Job done.
Put EWS back in the car, new transponder is ready to start the car.

If you want you can use AK90 to disable the keys which are not in possession of car owner.
Disable all keys which are lost, save new eeprom file to pc, open new file in AK90 and write back new EEPROM file (with disabled keys).
