hi there .so i have replacement cim and ecu from a astra h 18xe and want
to program these to car with failed modules. i have the pin from the donor
cim and ecu from both cars but having problems pairing them up
i know the units must be reset before removal on both cars
but once reset am i correct in saying that they no longer have
a pin code? and then you use the orig cars pin for re program or
do you use the pin from new modules as i bought a reset cim online
and when i dumped the eeprom with carprog the 650 line was all
FF on the code area. if i use the donor cim pin it eccepts but not
the ecu it locks me out its a simtec 75 ecu and i have carprog so
can i read ecu directly and reset or change pin and lockout
ive not got the car here i have to travel to do the fix so i would
like any advice in advance...thanks for any reply

To learn a used module in Opel, no matter which one, you must first log out this module. To log out, you need to log in with the pin of the module you want to change. Then perform a reset of this module and our module is logged out. Now the module is ready to log in with the car's pin. So you need to know the pin of the module being used. This is the basis.

thanks so when ive been reseting them afterwards i have been using the new code to program and thats why its been failing on me
as the one in ecu is still orig to the car .so the new cim if not reset in previous car can be reset using its orig code in the new car
then program as normal is it best to do them sepperatly cim then ecm or do the both in same process? i am going there tommorow
so trying to be prepared as poss

hi again i went to the car today and the cim unit reset no problems but the ecu would not eccept the car pin old or new i tried carprog
with adaptor a1 but kept getting packet error or unknown unit in use also tried another ecu without wait timer but that wouldnt read
either so ive brought both ecu home and going to try read direct from ecu pins but i am confused witch adaptor i should be using
in manuals it says adaptor a15 my a15 says airbag and doesnt have a green wire and the diagrams show connections from the obd port
the only adaptor i have that connects to a1 adaptor obd is adaptor c1 ? could my a1 adaptor need a fix of any type it looks different inside
to the genuine and clone pictures also i have downloaded oiterminal app and diagrams is the an easyer way to read this ecu? sory for long post
but i am really stuck with this at the moment

it was on lockout 10 mins we waited then tryed the orig car pin the one all other modules eccept and it failed.. lock changed to 20 mins
so we waited a further 20 mins then tryed the pin from the doner ecu and cim incase not knowing i reset it and coded it to pin from doner cim unit
but neither ecu wil eccept either car pin so now both donor and orig ecu wil not eccept either pin and are both on 40 min lockout too arrgghh
now i also have a third ecu with unknown pin but not locked out i have carprog but cannot seem to connect either way direct or pinout method
ive already asked if anyone can tell me if my a1 adaptor needs fixing as i think it might do but fix info online differs from my pcb

just fixed the problem it was my adaptor replaced resistor in my board for capacitor and the link pin 16 shown here in another topic
anyway now i have the pin from both ecu witch were both different to the cars other modules ive brute forced reset them both with
carprog so now should be straight foward to one running in the car will post back with results if its helped me it might help someone
else with same problems :)

so i went to the car today with the reset ecu x2 the first one i programmed and car was running!!! but sputtered on low revs and i noticed that it said 16xe and car was 18xe so
i installed the other ecu witch was lumpy on low revs also.. but showed as 18xe but the doner ecu, scame from a car with maf sensors and the orig ecu was coded for no maf sensor
and opcom complained about it ....so it took a dump from orig ecu and flashed it to the one that showed 18xe with maf with the orig ecu dump from car and presto car running
no lumpyness all working as normal :)
