Hello all, newbie on here thought id do a new thread as the repair threads dont seem to apply yet?
I have a Saab 93 with a dead pump and im getting errors P0725 and P1335. I have fitted a new crankshaft position sensor and this hasnt done a thing.
Hunting the tinternet i found reference to powering the fuel pump on pins 6 and 7 www.veggiediesel.co.uk (http://www.doctordiesel.co.uk/) and this should allow the car to start. I duly did this and got clicking on the solenoid but no starting, chopped a bit of wiring loom from the scrappys. I checked fuel lines at injectors and found a dribble of fuel which leads me to suspect that the pump is physically f***d and not the ECU.
My next question is that are the pumps fitted to various cars identical just the fuel mapping being different in the ECU fitted to the pumps?
Looking on fleabay Saab and Vauxhall pumps are well expensive but a Rover one for example is cheap as chips and its only the last 3 digits on the part number that are different. So my question is that can i buy a different part number and swap the ECU out or is it more complicated?
Has anyone got a spare ECU for a Saab/Vauxhal 2.2 that is known to be working that would lend/sell before i go down the road of a new pump?
Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give.
