I finally got my cable and if does not work I repeat it does not work. They totally screewed up with the pin assignment on the Toyota 17 pin connector side. I have tested it with my Carman Scan Tool.
They mixed up the difference between the connector view and wire DLC connecter view the pins are upside down the the middle row in the connector is ok.
Here is the correct Pinout tested and working with Carman Scan

OBD 16 Toyota 17
1 --- TT
2 --- BLANK (not used)
3 --- AB
4 --- BLANK (not used)
5 --- E1
6 --- TS
7 --- VF
8 --- W
9 --- EXT. wire for ABS Diagnostics WA or WB
10 --- BLANK (not used)
11 --- VF2
12 --- BLANK (not used)
13 --- TE2
14 --- BLANK (not used)
15 --- TE1 and TC
16 --- +B

Hope this will help.

Howsit going, This is my first post so please bear with me.

I have a 96 landcruiser with a DLC1 Connection, am i understanding correctly from the above posts that it is possible to go from the DLC1 plug to an OBD plug? Will this then enable me hook up an OBD scanner and read engine codes and all that? Will it be compatible with OBD2 scan tools?

I'd really like to be able to run a scanguage tool so i can monitor real time engine conditions as well as read fault codes as and when they come up. the scan guage tool is OBD2. Is there any way to make this work with the DLC1?

Any info is much appreciated.

Cheers
