Hi,

Car came to me as a NO runner, Key doesnt turn in EZS.

W211 from 2002
E220 CDI

Removed EZS and ESL and connected everything on the bench.
Autel IM508 said that Keys are not matched to the EZS.

No problem.... lets match them.

After that both keys could turn inside EZS and ESL operates ""normally""
If I power EZS and insert key, it will turn.... but if I remove key from EZS and reinsert it again, it will not turn untill......
I disconnect EZS from 12v and reapply 12v again, key will turn.

With everything in the car I have a strange issue.
First time key is inserted EZS make its clicking noise and I can rotate it, ESL also make noise and I can run the engine.
After that key out.
If I try to insert the key again it will not work, NO noises from EZS or ESL.

To make it work again, I have to remove and insert the small blue plug where 12v / ground / K-line are.

I have tried to copy with R270 the eprom and flash to a donnor EZS but problem presists.
I also have tried another ESL (of course configured with Autel) but same problem.

Key only works first time.

Need help,
What am I missing.

Best regards

SOLVED.

After playing around with EZS and ESL on the bench I finally found the issue to the key only be accepted once.
Another strange thing was the ESL only opens, and never puts the little plunger out to lock the stearing wheel.

Here goes the solution to help others in trouble.
After 2 days thinking it was a program issue in keys EZS or ESL, found that by pressing the little micro switch inside EZS the plunger off the ESL goes to the locking position and the key os accepted again.

Some one opened the EZS and lost a metallic piece, even the one I got from the scrapyard was missing that piece, and solder points to programming allready used.
