Hi,
I am putting this out here for anyone who might come across that paint.

This is a 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer gauge cluster which had that blue paint on the EEPROM.
You wouldn’t be able to read trough it.
It comes off easily with a cotton swab and nailpolish remover.
Mine was with acetone and it took about 2 minutes of scrubbing for each side.

Enjoy,
Michael

Those lancer clusters you don't even need to take them apart or mess with eeprom. Just take off back cover and you will see 6 round copper pads in a strait line ,use a 6 pin pogo pin adapter for Yazaki clusters or you can solder wires direct and do it that way . . From left to right pins are 8 - 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1 and the eeprom is a 93c86
