If your using DiSEqC 1.2 you will have to set-up the dish positions manually. If your using USALS it should be automatic.

Here's the USALS procedure that I used.
First make sure the dish is correctly aligned on a satellite, eg Astra 28.2E

Thanks for the info Westkill. Just one question, after setting up all the satellites i needed. What is the next step.Do i have to do a manual scan or automatic scan.

westkill
11th April, 2010, 05:13 PM
usally i would do a manual scan on each sat
a automatic scan does take a while as it will scan for all sats you activated so to speak

My dm800 should be arriving next week so just doing some reading. Why do you select 28.2.E with LNB1 is there any special reason as I would have expected you to align on 08.0W Thor?

westkill
11th April, 2010, 06:04 PM
no special reason for that this just to activate the tuner setttings. so when channel lists are loaded. these sats would be grey out and not active to view as long as dish is right

You need to go into non standard configuration and change the settings on the lnb from diseq 1.2 to 1.0 for the monobloc lnb.

Thank you very much indeed for the info Westkill

Before everything, sorry for my poor English!

Recently I replaced my old Humax5400 receiver with DM800 hd

My Dish is motorized, I mean in case I'm watching NileSat (7 deg W) position (say 1),
and want to watch some channels from Amos satellite
I move the Dish using an actuator and separate positioner (SuperJack EZ Track II)
where every satellite has it's programmed position. (say 2)

My dish size 1.8 m, it has one (single) LNB which is connected directly to the receiver.

My Dish, It hasn't DiSEqC motor.

I found the difference in using Humax and DreamBox is very wide in everything.

My new DreamBox 800 furnished already with software Gemini Project 2

Available programmed satellites are:
Atlantic Bird / NileSat 7 deg W,
Hotbird 13 deg E,
Astra 19. deg E
and ArabSat 26 deg E

My Dreambox 800 not programmed for other satellites such as Amos, Sirius,..etc.

I understand that your above mentioned explanation will help me too much.
But I'm hesitated to do any change without consulting You!

Your help will be too much appreciated.

Please do one example for me such as;
how to add Amos satellite (4 deg W) for example ch2 and ch10.

Thanks in advance

Hi there
I would be glad if someone could help me with the multi sat configuration for my Dreambox DM800. I followed the step by step but I'm geting confused on the latitude/longitude part. Since multimap is now bing maps is not showing the lat/lon as described so the results that I've got from my postcode are:

51.3179580867291 -0.578015372157097

What are the numbers that I need to input on the dreambox? And is North/South - East/West???

I know the dish works as I have a technomate 5400 and it works fine but I wanted an HD one so i bought the dreambox.

But now all i've got from the dreambox is Tune failed. I tworked once when I selected 28.2 Astra (this was the satellite that the dish was pointing to when I was last using the technomate) but I tried to move to other satellites and all I've got is the Tune Failed message and now even the 28.2 Astra is giving me this message. It must be the lat/lon is wrong.
Those are the coordinates that I put on the box:

Longitude: 000.578 West
Latitude: 051.317 North

What am I doing wrong??

Thanks for the help!

when set up as in post 1, when you change over from say 4.8 bouquet to another sat in the bouquet does the dreambox move the motorised dish ?

With Usals all you need to do is choose tuner as simple.
Mode=positioner and put in correct long and lat.
Install a solid set of bouquets like Sgtflipflops or Catseyes and the dish should move when you press a channel from any sat.
Check the picture below.

Location, size of dish and you may be just off the arc.
Good on some sats and not on others.

If you cant get a lock on a certain sat try and tune into a channel that has a strong transponder that might do the trick and when you're on it you should be able to view other channels from that sat.
