Is there a certain programmer and software anyone recommends to do this? My research is pointing me to UPA USB 1.3, will this be ok and cover a vast amount of other chips in the future? Also, where can I find the soldering points to read the mcu? Thanks in advance!

I’m not doing it to scam anyone. I’m actually doing quite the opposite. I’m a licensed locksmith who just enjoys learning and expanding my knowledge and skills. My brother in law has a cluster he needs to replace and I simply want to make sure his new cluster displays the correct mileage.
