Hi All,

First a thanks to everyone that contributes to make this forum GREAT!

I have a dm500c which is off the boat from china. I have flashed the DK image to it and it works a treat :-) My question is, that I have to have the audio level (sound vlume) very high for it to output at a reasonable/audiable level; as if the gain is very low. I have noticed the same thing with the video output, which appears to be very weak, and noticibly struggles if you connect two simultanious video outputs (scart & composite), as the picture quality very noticably declines. This is pretty annoying when switching to and from other devices which have a reasonable output level, as I either get deafend or can't hear the dreambox when switching to and from other av devices.

Is this the case with dm500c's generally or is it because I have a mickey one or maybe a defective unit? Anything maybe another image or update could resolve?

Thank you in advance for any advice

first of all 500c's are well known for low audio uotput there is not much that can be done with it, but regarding the video quality I have never came across this before maybe try changing your cable.

I'm no where near an expert on these boxes but mine is fine.No problems with either audio or video.Could it be the settings for your a/v channel on your tv need adjusting ?

Hi
I have read about people having audio improvement by using the composite audio outputs rather than the scart for audio, you could try this.
Also worth trying different leads and a different TV (just for elimination purposes)
