Network Question - Connect 2 wireless devices

This site has helped loads with my dreambox and wondered if other experts could help with a network question?

My dreambox and slingbox are in another room and cant be connected via wires. I was wondering if someone could show me what wireless device I need to connect both wirelessly??

I've seen the words 'bridge', 'port' and 'gaming adapter' but unsure which would be suitable for my N netgear wireless router. am i right in thinking that gaming adapters only have 1 ethernet port?

You can buy a network bridge, that plugs into your mains, normally they come as a 2 plug kit, 1 for each device so they can communicate in other rooms. In your case you need 3 plugs as they only have 1 Ethernet port.

Is that the mains network kit? I was thinking something like a wireless bridge. I saw something like this: Netgear WGPS606 Wireless Print Server 54mbps 4 Ports 802.11g - Ebuyer (http://www.ebuyer.com/product/89143) would that work?

Yep i would go for the Mains ones, might be a bit more expensive, but safer and get a better range.

The netgear bridge is a pain in the ass to set up, i tried 1 before , was on for about a week, still couldnt get it to work.

I see what youre saying, so basically use my mains as a network. I wonder how safe these are, esp in a block of flats. do u know if you can monitor it and what the security is like?

I connect my dm600 and my xbox into my network wirelessly using one of these on each. Easy to set up and they power down to standby when the deivice they are connected to does...

My wireless setup:

In the living room I have a Webstar cable modem connected to a Belkin FSD8230 wireless router, which is also connected to a Lacie Ethernet Mini network attached hard disk.

In my room I have a netgear WGP5606, attached to my PC, printer and Dreambox DM500C.

With this, I can play and record MPEG 2 files over the wireless network to and from the hard disk.

My wireless setup is in 'infrastructure' connection mode, as it is all managed on the Belkin router. This works for me because I have PCs and laptops around the house.

On the other hand, if you are not looking to network your PCs and printers, I think you could achieve what you want with two Belkin F5D7330uk boxes in 'ad-hoc' connection mode.
