Hi
I have my motorised dish on the roof in 3 floor house.I live in a middle floor..a 30m long cable comes from the dish to my Dreambox 800 HD Clone..as usual i use USALS to move to the satellite i want..if im on the roof with my little tv and the box and try to use the motors everything is ok..the motor moves to where i want and find the best signal with over 4000 channels Hotbird 13.0 Sirus 4,8 Astra 28.2 but if i come back to the apartment and try to use same settings its just not working the motor doesn't move at all some times and sometimes just moves to the Satt and no channels comes all black.

So what you think guys
1.The long cable
2.The box
3.Motor

I have my dish at the bottom of the garden on scaffolding pole and is probably 30m from reciever. I have never had any issue with motor or reciever. I would check your psu and the end of the cable in case it is shorting or something similar.

Looks like voltage drop.

Check with a meter at the receiver end and see what the voltage is and then check at the other end of the cable (dish end).

You may find the voltage is way low due to cable lenth and voltage drop.

What motor are you running and whats the quality of the cable being used?

Regards.

I had the very same problem 5 years plus ago when i installed my dish and motor down bottom of the garden the cable run was over 80m so had to up my setup to a vboxII and a 36v motor due to the voltage drop.
your run of 30m should't suffer from volt drop enough to effect the lnb so byepass the motor rule out the lnb is ok

what type of coaxial cable you use ? eg ct100
what type of motor you go ? eg technomate
what lnb you got ? eg invacom 0.3

ct100 best cable 100ohm 1.25mm size inner core for less voltdrop
tecnomate 2600 motor low power consumption
inacom 0.3 lnb low power consumption

thanks fo all of you whos helping...
Im using Stab HH100
dish 80 cm
MTI High Line – Super High Gain Low Noise 0,2db LNB
The cable is some crappy frm the local shop ..im trying to find something better

Do you guys think i need In-line amplifier or its there anything i can do?

Im using Nabilo BH 12 image very stable..now im watching 19.2E very good signal..but the problem is if i move to another satt..i lose the signal and get tune failed and if i come back to original satt (19.2E) i also get tune failed....i have to go up to the roof and find manually...but then i can't move anything...and the motor does move ok..when im in the roof..but not down in my apartment doesn't even go to 0..when im down ..but everything is ok on the roof;)

thanks again
