I have same problem and Im using a usb to rs232 db9 with no IRQ , because this converter dont need it, so my problem is the com port I understand we need a real comportfo DAS, I have in another laptop a PCMCIA rs232 db9 and das 0309 and is working fine, I need to know if there is a configuration to change in das in order to make it work with a usb adapter, any help will be apreciated.

Without any reason, with latest addons already installed, today my 03-2010 system send me ERROR: (1.1)-1.501.9551 with mux powered and ERROR: (1.1)-1.501.9503 with mux without power
and into test:
device '0 (-1) isn't in state available
error

Device: Part D
Toolkit-Resultcode: -1

I change the cables, with same results.
I change the laptop with 2008 DAS and tell me:
Check serial ... 0 Ok
CAESAR HW Detection :
D2Access ... 0 Ok
D2DownLoad ... 104No download possible

I open the mux, all voltage seams OK.

My mux just died?

Thanks,

DAS will nor work with USB->serial cards (using Prolific drivers).
Try to find a "real" comport card. The best and most compatible chipset I found is Oxford chipset.

So get a real COP port PCMCIA / Express card - They are a little more expensive but they will work !!!.

I do not think your mux has "died".

104 fault is Serial Port/Serial Cable / Mux communication fault (to the best of my knowledge!)

I was faced with this problem (i.e. get this error ob CAESAR test ) however my Mux was and is working fine. It remains a mystery why D2DownLoad gives error 104

Everything seems to be Ok and theoretically !!! you should be Ok.
Have you tried a different set of cables ??
Also have you installed the fixes by Zolookas ? (copy the three files cal.ini, c32s.dll, lic.sli)

Did you ever run DAS with the Mux connected before copying above files ?

Also try another key for DAS.

and we will always be here to try to help !!!

Thank you. I have tested mux/cables with other older hdd and it worked wit it. Noe older version is formated and new installed over it..
I have tryed many fix files. Have also tryed change cal.ini platform W => D, D2 .. I will try other das key. Xentry gives same error. Is bin folder same for das and xentry?

EDIT:
ZADAA! It works. Both DAS and Xentry!
First I changed star developer key. After that it gived error 872. After that I changed cal.ini PLATFORM = D -> D2. Then it started to work. My Serial Port settings are now:

-Com 2
-115200 bit/sec (why ceasar detect 19200??)
-Fifo enabled
-Resources [x] Automatic settings

P.S. Now I need to install some Wis or Asra or EPC net. What do you prefer and witch is easy to install? Is Wis possible to full Finnish language?

I just started to download WIS-EPC-EWANET_05.2010_DVD. That is ok? Those are so big files that I'm running out of space.. Need now get back up cause get das/xentry work and If I restore back up to other HDD will it work at other laptop? Or need I change something or made new install? Install takes so much time. Have now used many days of my summer holiday for that and not yet Wis/epc installed :(

Hi again

I have run a few tests again with 2 Mux- (one was a replacement) Here are the results :
a) I managed to get a few clean - all pass caesar tests
b) Most of the tests gave me the 104 error
c) IN ALL CASES I WAS ABLE TO DIAGNOSE / CODE my w211/facelift/MY2007 (loaded with extras)

So it remains a mystery why this 104 error comes on - Maybe somebody else whow has come across such a case can shed some light !!

hi, I am also having this same error with new compoact 3 kit I bought from china. kit comes with pre-installed das xentry 03/10 on HDD, I have tiried hdd and mux on both ibm t23 and t30, with same error. 501.9551 when trying to connect to car.

From reading on this extremely helpful forum, I don't think its a mux problem, as caesar test just says 'device isnt in state available' as with previous posts on this thread.

I have tried editing cal.ini for device = part_d2->d
com port is set to com2 at 115200 etc., but still same problem.
i had downloaded zolookas fixes but hav not applied them as yet. I have attached zolookas fixes for anyone who needs it.

I was wondering if I should try another key first(how do i get another key?) or should i apply zolookas fixes first then if that doesnt work try a different key?

Please help.

In order to get a key for DAS post you LanId.

Also if things do not go favourably I would greatly recommend to download DAS2010.01 and make a fresh installation using Zolookas guide letter by letter.

Mr Zolookas has spent a lot time and effort in order to make installation really easy . And he was nice enough to share with all of DK

So take advantage of his work !!

I think m8 you got it wrong

DAS will not work with serial cards using prolific drivers (USB to Serial):banghead:

DAS will work corectly for SURE with Express or PCMCIA RS-232 cards ("real" RS232) using mostly Oxford Chipset and coresponding drivers. :barscarf:

Hi,
sorry, been busy with stuff why hadn't checked the thread.

Ok, I tried zolookas fixes, and tried developer key, but still same error. Also did some other bits but didn't change a thing in caesar test.

I am convinced its a cable or comport problem, but since it was the same in my T23 which had a verified com port, I am leaning towards a faulty cable , namely the rs232 to rs485 converter cable.

I contacted the seller (china) and they also said it is most likely this cable. They will send me a replacement cable free, this should arrive sometime after the bank holiday.

i will let you guys know if this solves it!

cheers.

I'm back and happy to report that it was indeed the cable (rs232 to rs485) which was faulty.
Now my das is working fine !!!!:thrasher:

Thanks to everyone for their help, really appreciated.

Now , I would like to use xentry, but before I do so, do I need any special keys , or only if i want to run xentry dev mode.
Also, do I need to apply the timeout fix or should i run it and see first?

Thanks guys.

You can not exclude possibility.

However can you post a picture of your LPT&COM section to see what com port you got there ??

Also you can not know what is the chipset inside from a photo !

I checked the cables and they are good, not sure if the china mux as fried or not, but I get the green ligth and in DAS it shows voltage, but after selecting the car it gave error 30 31.

I'm using DAS 3/2009, any ideia how to solve it guys?

PS: I will try with a PCMCIA card I have here with oxford chipset to see if is the onboard RS232 problem.

Hi all,
my China clone C3 gave this same error 1.501.9551 after it was run well 45 minutes. I have try all program fix but no help. Ceaser test can't find mux. Com port should be OK, I have test it. Also com port settings are OK. So there have to be hardware problem :stupid:
Mux give out some signal but can someone tell me what mux should give out in normal state when it is OK?

Hello All,

I have problem with my chineese MUX;
Caesar say 1701 D2 flash has wrong device code.
Anyone has D2 flash .bin to rewrite the original?
Or any solution?

I readed and tried many fixes, but the promlem in the MUX FLASH .

Waiting for solution and best regards!

I'm getting the 9551 error too.
When I run the self diagnostics, I get:

ERROR: Device '0 (-1)' isn't in state available.

Device: Part D
Toolkit-Resultcode: -1

And that's it. I don't get a long list of paramaters like everyone else is getting?

Any ideas?
Thanks,
shr.

Post photos from your multiplexer circuit boards and we can see if it is likely an issue with the mux. It could be the PC cable too if the SW (and COM port) settings are already good.

Are you referring to the RS232 data? Did you check if the multiplexer is responding at all (as seen from the RX pin of the PC COM port)?

Unfortunately, I bought blind so don't know what the internals look like. Don't want to open it yet as still under warranty.
Just wanted to make sure I'm not doing something silly before I seek a replacement.
I've managed to connect successfully on occasion. Yesterday did a quick test on my 211. Test completed ok but when trying to select an module, it gave me the 9551 error.
And now it gives me that error every time I try to connect.

Sorry but I don't think you bought this product blindly. If I remember right, I warned you and gave you instructions to purchase a different mux. The multiplexer type can probably be identified from a photo from the green led side or from the PC cable if you don't want to open it.

The warranty labels are there to prevent you identifying the product type until paypal or your credit card company cannot any more claim money back. Your warranty is the same if you have those labels removed or not.

Sorry for delay in replying, I've been workng away from how for the last few days.

Anyway, I've made some progress on this. I found that if I jiggle the serial cable at the back of the laptop and hold it in a particular way, it will indeed communicate with the car. (Managed to get the clock in my 211 to sync with COMAND. Something Dealer said is not possible.)

So seems the serial cable is faulty.

Then it is not going to be too expensive. Can you test the cable with another computer or the computer with a docking station to find out that it isn't the laptop serial port connector?

GsAre the serial ports on T30s k own to fail? I know one of the mem slots failing is a very common issue with these laptops but is there anything known for the serial port?

I'm on the look out for a serial mouse. I used to have lots of old computer stuff kicking about until one day mrs.shr decided to chuck a load of my 'tat.'
So any serial mice and cables will have gone with that.

Found a p/s2 mouse kicking about so have ordered a serial to p/s2 converter to test with.

OK so I've made a serial loop back adapter and tested my com port. If I push and hold the adapter upwards in the port, the test passes. If I let go, the test fails.

So definitely a bad connection with the serial port pins inside the laptop.

Does anyone know how to access that bit of the laptop?
I can't figure out which screws to undo in order to get access to the back of the serial port.
Basically, I think I need to remove the underside of the laptop casing, but can't figure out how.
Can't find anything on the net about it either.

Anyone done this?

I've seen this problem mentioned but I've never had any IBM T30 laptop that would have suffered from this serial port issue. There is a small circuit board where the serial port connector is soldered, the instructions say this soldering needs to be fixed and the issue should be gone.

You have to disassemble the laptop quite completely, not too difficult specifically if you download the service manual from the Lenovo site. I can email it to you if you PM me your email address (I'll send it if I can find your address, I should have it already).

Got the email thanks DB.
Looks like quite a task. Will try and give this a go at the weekend.

I am afraid m8 "goodies" with Prolific drivers will not do the job for you.

Without any reason, with latest addons already installed, today my 03-2010 system send me ERROR: (1.1)-1.501.9551 with mux powered and ERROR: (1.1)-1.501.9503 with mux without power
and into test:
device '0 (-1) isn't in state available
error

Device: Part D
Toolkit-Resultcode: -1

I change the cables, with same results.
I change the laptop with 2008 DAS and tell me:
Check serial ... 0 Ok
CAESAR HW Detection :
D2Access ... 0 Ok
D2DownLoad ... 104No download possible

I open the mux, all voltage seams OK.

My mux just died?

Thanks,
Hello,

I have the same problem, same results for the Ceasar test , could you help me?
My mbStar C3 (version 07.2011) has never worked, I checked the COM2 setting.
Within my RS232-Mux cable the pin 4 is connected to the pin 9, that is normal.

Thank you for your response.

I am having the same Problem with Fault 9550 and 9500 with my Star C3. I am using it only for my personal car since 2014. It was working great till now, last time 3 Weeks ago.
I tried yesteday again and it returned me the 9500 error. I pressed ok and tried the Connection again and then it worked. I was also able to make a Quick Test.
When i wanted to enter Actual Values on the Engine it lost the Connection and it returned me te 9551 error. After that it was not possible to make the Connection working again.
The green LED on the MUX is always on, it also recognizes th Volts of the battery in the right upper Corner in DAS.
Port is set to COM 2 with 115200 band and the CAL.ini file has PART D2 as i should. I am using DAS 2014 with XP on Dell D620 with RS232.

I tried CAESAR Selfdiagnostic (i don't know why but i can't post the photos) and with the MUX connected to the car it returned me:

Selfdiagnostic
Device Part D
Toolkit-Resultcode 0

and with the MUX disconncted from car

Selfdiagnostic
Error Device 101044 (21) isn't in state avaible
Device SDconnect /e COM
Toolkit-Resultcode -1
Testresult 0
Number of Errors 1
Number of Warnings 0

Do you guys have any idea what it might be?

Thanks in advance!

104No download possible = faulty data out of the MUX, hardware problem between Infineon MCU and rs232 area of mux . that happens when your cable its not plugged properly to the rs232 of laptop or its plugged out by mistake when diagnosis running or laptop shutds down suddenly.
