Hey guys

Sorry for asking what to you is completely noob questions, as it annoys me too, but I have been trying to pick up how this free TV thing works, but i am completely stumped!

I have read that you can purchase some kind of universal cable reciever, and scan to get all of Virgin's channels. Is this true? We are currently on XL, broadband and phone and we soon have to cut back as it is too much.

If you guy's could help me answer some questions, I will be so greatful.

1) Where do I get these boxes?
2) Does anything have to be done to them? Programmed? Or is it a simple case of scanning?
3) Can they be traced?
4) Do they reguarly need programming?

Thank you again for all your help, it wont go unappreciated :)

Hmmmmmmmmm!!!!

Isnt that all a wee bit illegal???

Anyways, what I would do, well, I would google Kryptview. With a Kryptview box you can get freeview coughallcablecough.

You can download a software patch, just incase there are any bugs in the system!!!!

Scan the network, to get free view!!

Thank you both very much.

Just out of interest, if one person bought the box to use cable illegally, would the box automatically find the cable channels or would the kryptview require "codes" or "keys" for each channel?

I will only be using it for freeview of course...

the box would find the channels but the screen would be blank apart from the fta's but once a certain someone put some firmware on these would all be perfectly viewable

Of course I would not do the following, at all.

I wouldnt look for the Kryptview 26/09/08 firmware.

I would'nt look for Krytptview loading software, and as you wont need that you wont need the loading instruction.

After that, well, you wouldnt need to scan your area TP's.

Kryptview powerscans network, so sorts channels, the free ones that is.

No keys needed after that.
