MERCEDES EGS REPAIRS

I have been working on some mercedes with EGS problems and it seems they are software related as i do not see any burnt item or IC when i open the EGS (TRANNY) Anyone ever fixed smae before by rewriting the EGS file, what chip need editing and how does one get the file too.
