Defender Dash 08ODOWQ (M35080) READ and Write

Hi,
I need to read and write an 08ODOWQ (M35080) EEPROM on the dashboard of a Land Rover Defender and was wondering if it is possible to do this without removing it from the CS, has anyone been able to do this or do I have to desolder it?
