wanna make 8 pin eeprom adaptor for tacho universal

Wonder if anybody can help me, i wanna make a eeprom adaptor for my tacho universal instead of using the cheap useless clip that comes with it

They sell plenty of sockets etc in maplins which could be used to make an adapter??
