my son has a 60gb hard drive with all his stuff on games etc, console is knackered but game will take console and hard drive in part exchange, we wont have both hard drives at same time to be able to do normal xbox transfer, is there a way to copy everything on old hard drive to pc, then when he gets new one transfer it to new one, all the games achieved online we know we can upload to microsoft and get back, its just the personal achievments etc that cant be uploaded thanks for any help supplied

the bulk of the hard drive will be DLC and games.
Neither of which will transfer.

The only important stuff will be savegames and such and those take up next to no room.

You'll be able to save all that on to a usb thumb drive, then transfer them over to a new drive, the games and DLC can all be reinstalled on the new one anyways so nothing will actualy be lost ;)

Your able to get into a hdd housing with torx screws, then connect it to a pc via SATA.

just a matter of copying data over from there.

he also doesnt want to be cracking open the drive if he's exchangeing it,
best way is either try using a friends 360, to transfer your saves to a usb stick, or get a hdd conector, I got a free one with my ck3. XBOX 360 Connectivity Kit HDD SATA Adapter on eBay (end time 29-May-10 19:21:28 BST) (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/XBOX-360-Connectivity-Kit-HDD-SATA-Adapter-/180392281411?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Video_Games_Accessories&hash=item2a0037c543) something like that.
