Hello everyone,

Hey guys,I recently did a mileage reset on my E46 cluster and ran into some weird issues afterwards.
I used an R270 programmer to overwrite the EEPROM (rewritable M35080 variant) with a modified dump. The process went smoothly, no errors during flashing, and the mileage now correctly shows 0 km.
However, after reconnecting everything:

In PA Soft (BMW Scanner 1.4), both hardware and software version fields for the instrument cluster are blank – nothing is shown at all (see attached screenshot).

On the onboard computer (BC), it just displays “CodE” and no other info – no range, consumption, or anything else.

Has anyone come across this before? Could this be due to an incomplete or corrupt dump? Or maybe something else missing in the EEPROM that PA Soft needs to read those values?

Any help or hints would be super appreciated!

it seems your dump missing VIN data, and maybe other data. did you desolder eeprom when programming?

Your EEPROM dump has missing data , or during write your programmer is skipping some data, try to compare them . modified and the original one

What do you mean with a modified dump? Do you mean a dump from another cluster because if the software /hardware is not the same it won't work properly. But if it's the original file from the original cluster with Pa soft try to write the vin (last 7) and then copy coding data from either Ews or Lcm and write it to cluster and see if it that works. Did you remove the eeprom off the board? With R270 trying to erase mileage while eeprom in circuit most times it will corrupt the data on bmw clusters and some times it even ruins the eeprom. Always safer and better to remove eeprom and do what you have to do.
