Hi,

I have a Vito 639 2007 model Merc Vito in with me and I believe the ignition module (EZS) is playing up.

The symptoms: This is intermittent: When I put the infrared key in the ignition module the steering lock does not release and the key will not turn, I have tried using the spare key and replacing the battery's in the keys and checking the beam out of the key using a mobile phone camera (which was there and as strong as a working Vito key).

Is there a way of repairing this?

maybe by the EZS (if this is faulty) via reading/programming the Motorola micro controller in it with mask 0L02M?

All help much appreciated.

Hello,

I have the same problem.

Infrared key is working, but if I put to innition switch, the key is not turnable. The wheel lock is released in my VITO.

Anyone can help?

Your problem is ESL(electric steering lock) defective.
