Hi fellows! I have in shop a 2001 bmw E46 with an EWS3, the problem with the car is that when you try to lock the doors manually or with remote the car unlocks
right away by it self. All door locks are ok, the central locking module is ok (tryed with diferent ones and problem maintained), what i discovered is that the problem was in ews.
If i plug a diferent EWS the doors perfectly but if i clone the EWS the problem comes back, so i thought is a software issue.
After messing arround with the file i discovered that what is causing this problem is the Key ID from the first key, if i change one bite from the first key ID or put a diferent ID the problem goes away but the car wont recognize any of the keys that are programed.
My question is, is it possible to change the key ID in the first position so that it will still work with other keys?
I´ll leave the file from ews.
Appreciate any thoughts.

Hi ricked, your file works just like the original, all keys work but the central locking problem maintains because
the first key ID is still the same. what would work in this case is if it was possible to change or eleminate the first key ID and
maintain the rest so that the other keys would still work. If i try to change the ID by another one or put FFF´s it won´t recognize any of the keys.
The ID i´m refering is A05D24A771AED4E1
Another curious thing is that is has 3 keys programed, turned the ignition on with the 3 keys, when i read back file again
only shows key n1 used!!!???

there are 4 keys in your file
read keys in this case as it looks like they are cloned if i read your replie(not sure its poseble for e46 btw)

One chip i programed it my self with AK90 so i know that one is not cloned.
After i tryed your file, read back ews memory and only shows key one used even though i turned ignition on with 3 keys. Its very werd!
Maybe i have to use another EWS then program new keys.
What doesn´t make sense is the central locking unlocking the doors right after you lock them just because of the Key ID!
