or are you saying its stuck on first screen dream multi media?

I have a similar problem with my DM800HD. When switched on the display shows "Error". With a serial cable I try Dreamup and get the message "No CA found...". With the enforcer I can try to flash but get the message "File too big" even if it is the smallest file I can find.
Any suggestions?

Can't understand why you guys are trying to flash the file through dreamup, you just use the patched version i posted a few weeks back and connect null modem connect to dm800 this will then put it in flash mode display the ip of the router you are connected to then on pc type the address displayed on lcd and flash..

Hi Bubbels69
I have already tried a patched version that did not work. Where can I find yours? I have searched for it but been unable to find it.

johnleo

The patched version I used was called
DreamUP_patched_by_forhike_and_natas.exe.
Is it the same one you posted?

johnleo
15th May, 2010, 03:22 PM
When I use this patched version of Dreamup, I get the message about NO CA FOUND and I cannot flash. When I click on OK Dreamup disconnects. Dreamup shows the same IP as the lcd.
What else can I do?

bubbles69

all you use dreamup for is for the first boot,

click connect
power on box
wait for it to initialise

once ip is displayed on dream box don't touch anything else on dreamup that is all you need to touch,

go to pc or laptop that is connnected to same router as dreambox then type ip 192.168.**.**

the flash thats it fixed.. i have done many no ca for people..

Something just happended! I connected to the box and got the below message. What shall I now do?

This is the ??? bootloader Web Interface.

http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/img/???
If you see this, your box didn't boot to Linux.
Unless you interrupted the boot process, this usually means that you have no valid operating system in flash.
Don't panic! It's not a problem. You can just flash a new version and everything will be fine!
Otherwise, you can boot from network (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/BOOT?/tftp) or compact flash (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/BOOT?/cf/autoexec.bat). (Sollte jetzt gehen, wurde aber noch *nie* getestet! Nicht wundern wenns nicht geht!)
If you're about to give up, you might get help at the Dream Multimedia Support board (http://www.dream-multimedia-tv.de/board/index.php)!
Currently there aren't many other features...

You can download your current flash contents (64 MB) here (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/FLASH), but please don't expect to be able to flash it back. It's merely a debugging feature.
This device's Serial Number is ?, and was built on N/A.

Yes, it is a stupid clone which I want I had never bought!

bubbles69
15th May, 2010, 05:47 PM
its very old clone with an old boot loader mate and can't be upgraded you need to find a bl59 image to flash to it... search google to find a image

when i say old, it depends if you have accidently over written the bootloader yourself

Thank you for your patience with me!
The box is only a few months old.
Yes, I am afraid that it is my own fault. The box worked quite well with peter_pan_neverland 1.3, there were only a few odd things. In the menu I looked for possible solutions and by mistake pressed OK so it started upgrading firmware. Since the it has not worked.
I can now flash the box from my pc, but I cannot find an image for bootloader #59. The last hour I have searched the net without any result. Is it possible to flash it with another bootloader? Or do you have any idea where to find an image for 59?

bubbles69
15th May, 2010, 08:05 PM
if its a few months old, it must be your fault its gone bl59, ok do you know when you bought it that its sim 2.00 or sim 2.01...?

johnleo
15th May, 2010, 09:29 PM
It is a DM800HD PWR so cannot be very old. I have no idea what version the simcard was/is, but I have just bought a simcard 2.01. I have tried flashing bootloader72 and peter_pan_neverland 1.3 with both cards with the same negative result.

bubbles69

2.0.1 sim will not accept bl72...!

if you sim 2.0.1 you can flash this below its sim2.0.1 new BL76 bootloader and gemini 5 image...

Flash the booloader nfi file first this will upgrade to BL76 then install gemini 5

like i say if you have sim 2.0.1 this will bring your box back to life..

I have downloaded the packege with gemini2-5.00-dm800-OE1.6-patched-SS76.nfi and SSL75-update-SSL76.nfi.
First I flashed SSL75 and afterwards gemini2-5.00. When finished I took the power from the box, waited 30 seconds and switched it on again.
The display showed -> error!

Unfortunately it was not as simple as I hoped.

to us ethe software above it must have bootlaoder 75 to update to bottloader 76, all sim 2.0.1 come with bl75

johnleo
15th May, 2010, 10:34 PM
I just received the simcard from China and it is labeled 2.01 and has a little hump like the original Dreambox simcard.
Earlier I have experienced that it sometimes is necessary to flash an image several times before it works. So I wil flash again and again, hoping for success.

bubbles69
15th May, 2010, 11:16 PM
with that simcard inserted the 2.01 what bL version is displayed in flash page, and also what version after you send the bootloader update..?

THE FIX

U need to use hyperterminal
connect to dreambox
after connection press s it will take u to the bios change dhcp to manual then write the ip you want
then exit the hyperterminal with saving
power off the box then power it again while pressing the silver buttom in the front
use that ip to flash the image for ur box

Hello guys. I have been reading you for a long time and found many useful things but now I will really appreciate some help.

I have a clone dm800hd with bootloader 72 and sim version 2.01 and was using the Gemini 4.5 for the last year.
Unfortunately I was not reading the latest news on images and flashed my clone with the gemini 5.1 which apparently had the wrong bootloader version.

I came across the classic ''no ca found'' after flashing through web interface so i tried dreamup with null serial cable.
Tried 1.3.3.2 , 1.3.3.5 and 2.0.0.9b versions. I also tried the dm800repair.exe patch by forhike and natas with no success.....

On a normal boot the clone says ''error no ca found''
On serial boot I am stuck at Dream Multimedia logo and Dreamup says '' is not a valid integer value''.

I press ok and try to flash with patch but all 10 different images i tried all come with FILE TO BIG error.

What am I doing wrong?

p.s. I found the ipk second bootloader file but I really dont know what to do next. Please enlighten me.

Thanks in advance.

You have to use a special Dreamup to get the image in and u need to use a image patched with the right bootloader (72), or, load original non-patched image first, then without resetting box, load correct bootloader 72 and reboot. You will find the "dreamup 2009 patched.exe" in the file named "2nd_stage_pack". u can pm me for the file, if u don't find it- :smokin:

This is normal never fix FILE TO BIG because you not connect Dreamup with DM800.
Check always button connect when you have File to big you have disconnect.

ok...so i open dreamup patched.exe and i leave dreambox only with serial (null) cable (tried 2 different cables) .
When dreamup finds dm800 on log window it throws an error.

[ '' is not a valid integer value ]

so the difference is that i do not manage to get to the 2nd stage bootloader error......Even with enforcer that enables flash button i get file to big problem with all images (bootloader 72 or earlier no difference) and with also 2nd stage pack.

please help :(

for all to know about my problem.......obviously the cable was fine but there was some kind of incompatibility with the com1 port of the laptop i was using.

I managed to save my clone and make it functional again by connecting usb to serial cable with this driver

_IO Cable_PL-2303_Drivers - Generic_Windows_allinone_PL2303_Prolific_DriverIns taller_v130

from this site

?????????? PL2303 Prolific Driver - Mobile Files.ru (http://www.mobile-files.ru/forum/showthread.php?p=1709331)

I just used dreamup to wake up the clone and then i just flashed through web interface because clone got a dhcp ip.
