I would dig out the old null modem cable and flash with dreamup. Flash erase first then flash on an image..

try switching on the box while keeping the power button pressed in untill the lights stop flashing.
Then try a re flash with dreamup and a null modem cable.

Thanks guys tried both but still wont communicate with dreamup nor can you telnet to it, guess its a real failure, asked "dream multimedia" for support on this but they say same thing, load new image.

I have read elsewhere that leaving the power out overnight and then trying to reflash the folowing day works, i can't vouch for this method but i guess you have nothing to loose..
Other guys will be coming online as the day goes by and another idea or two should be forthcoming.

You need a null modem cable, not a serial cable. They look the same, but the wiring is different. Try maplins.
