hi guys,

i have purchased a few dreamboxes from dvbmonkey recently and thought i would leave some feedback. my 1st box was purchased online and it took them 16 days before they even shipped it, then i took another 12 days for me to receive it. having said that the box was of excellent quality.

2nd & 3rd boxes were purchased on 3rd november and still havnt been shipped which is a joke. customer service is quite good and i have sent several emails asking when are they going to ship my box, all i get is apologys about the delay and never a straight answer as to when they will be shipped. so ill have been waiting over about month to receive box 2 & 3.

so bottom line................if you need a dreambox fast., dont order from dvbmonkey

anybody else know of any other places in china where i can order a dreambox that wont take a month to get here?

cheers

I'm waiting 20 days already and mine havent even been ~~~~ing dispatched !
Absolute shambles of a setup.
In this day and age of live stock tracking there is no excuse for this.
I've ordered off Dvbseller who are more expensive but dispatch within 2-3 days .
I wont be using DVBMonkey again.

Ordered 1 x 500c on 20th Oct 2008.

I was informed 31 Oct that order completed and tracking detail given. From memory with 2 days I could actually see what was happening on tracking info.

Received on 7th Nov

From my point of view, a reasonable experience. I paid by Paypal and just monitored the delivery. I would report non delivery to Paypal if there was a problem.

i know they are not scammers mate, i just wanted to state that their customer service is terrible.it doesnt take 20 days to go to the post office

you had to wait 18 days for your box, i suppose thats not too bad but its not great either

previous chinese suppliers i have dealt with have had great turnaround time.

just checked dvbseller.........95 euros inc shipping for a box to dublin
dvbmonkey......83 euros inc shipping

i agree with dellboy, they are advertising them as "in stock" when they clearly are not.

just checked my status again there. still being "processed"........ 15 days after i ordered !!

I've just ordered with DVBMonkey and its been 5 days and still waiting to be shipped even though i paid extra for DHL, should have read the reviews here first i guess

live and learn as they say

5 days since you ordered? you'll have to wait a lot longer mate. everybody who is waiting should email dvbmonkey and demand to know when their products will be shipped, thats what i have done, im just waiting on an answer.

oh by the way, although dvbseller is more expensive, if you order 2 boxes it works out practially the same price as they give you a shipping discount. thats where ill be going in future.

im going to give it till friday, and if my box isnt shipped, ill file a claim with paypal

My first purchase from them was fine and delivered in a timely manor... my second purchase was made on 29th Oct and have got no confirmation that it has been shipped yet. I have emails several times, I have got a response and was told they lost the package and that it has now been found and resent ( last thursday) but still no confirmation or tracking details yet !!

Get on to paypal m8 if ya want.

i ordered 2 x dm500 on the 29th October and they said they were being shipped on the the 12th with DHL tracking number.

Now since that date that tracking number is invalid online and when I rang DHL.

No response to my e-mails.

I do not understand what is so difficult about selling these receivers. Take the money and then post them, you'd think that customer service would be your main point of interest to keep YOUR customers happy.

Pissed right off tbh

the main thing is that we all get our boxes, at least we'll know not to buy from these tossers again

they are still advertising dm500c as "in stock" on their site. grrrrrrrrrrrr

I did a lot of reading up on them before I ordered and have yet to find any post where they didnt send the box out, it may take a while and they may be saying they are in stock when they are not but they always arrive from what I have read). Maybe they wait untl they have a load of deliveries and their postage costs go down for bulk, they still charge us the same but they are quids in....that is only a guess though.

btw m8, let us know of any updates, I intend to do the same. I will post the date ordered, date confirmed shipped and date arrived, just for others to see.

be prepared to wait 3-5 weeks from dvbmonkey as i did, true they say in stock when clearley there not. the good thing is although it takes ages iv never heard of anyone not recieving it., when i got mine from them my powerpack lasted about an hour, to there credit i recieved a replacement pac in 2 weeks (must have been in stock lol!), luckily i had a spare!:banghead:

Yup, I think maybe they wait till so many orders are in before they run a batch or something. My order for 2 sat boxes took a while but got them about 3 weeks after order. Yes they are slow, but I got what I think is a good quality box. Had an issue with a remote and they sent a replacement out pretty quick with no request for a return of the dodgy one. For the price I really can't complain.

Just got this back

Hi,

Just found out there are over 200 boxes stuck in customs due to DVBMonkey trying to help avoid UK agents pay taxes. They are due to be released any day now. Half have gone today. Hope this helps.

From what I have gathered dvbmonkey, they take orders & your money. Once few hundred buyers (could take few weeks), he cashout the paypal (taking 10days before he can cash it), Then he goes to the local factory in china and buys dreamboxs in bulk. End result....Loooooooooong wait, 2-3 weeks.

They do not even do that. He is linked up with some folks in China and he takes the orders and gets them dropshipped via EMS. In the past I had a similar arrangement with a chinese setup who used to dropship fake gear for me. Sometimes they want minimum of XX orders for a particular price so Mr monkey may be waiting till he has 100 orders before he orders the receivers.

has anyone paid with nochex and if so do you know what the refund policy is? their website is a bit vague when it comes to that kinda thing, its not like a dispute with paypal where the process is a bit clearer
if i was confident of a refund i'd get the box elswhere and have it before XMAS!

not sure about nochex policy mate, check their website for details

First things first ,all these Dreamboxes are being made in the same factory.
DVBMonkey and all these other resellers are only that resellers.
They do not make anything. If they say otherwise they are lying.

Peng is very reliable but unfortunately he doesnt sell 500T receivers, only C and S.

DVBSeller are pretty reasonable but their shipping charges are high, they are making a profit on the shipping despite them saying the opposite.
Ordered 2 receivers off DVBSeller and they have been held up by Irish customs until I forward the purchase order for them.
Thats twice thats happened now so I wont be using them again.
Customs have obviously targeted them .

thanks for the tip fano, ill steer clear from dvbseller then(and obviously these cowboys dvd monkey)

well it seems peng is the most reliable and the cheapest to date, dont know why i didnt stick with him all along.

peng uses EMS and i have never been stung for import tax

So do DVBSeller .
I cant understand why customs are sending me these letters, might be incomplete paperwork or incorrect valuation.
Last time I said they were valued at $20 each for 3 and they accepted it,no charges even technically there should have been as it was >22 euro total value.
Funny thing is that I ordered 2 500c boxes off Peng at the same time and they sailed through the same day.
I think customs just recognise DVBSeller by now.

Just so you know, paypal only have a guarantee on your money if you use it on Ebay, there is no guarantee outside Ebay but you do have protection through your credit card if you used it. I saw the owner on BBC news last week explaining this and he said if the customers wanted it then he would consider it outside Ebay.

PayPal Which? report on BBC News : TameBay : eBay news blog and forum (http://www.tamebay.com/2008/11/paypal-which-report-on-bbc-news.html)

Hey People,

Got an answer from DVBMonkey.com this morning for the delays. We order over a 50 boxes a week from them and all of a sudden, I didn't hear from them and I also shit it.

They seem to be going through a major hard time. Two weeks ago, they had allot of their goods stopped in HongKong due to customs. They were trying to help us boys avoid taxes but showing them low amounts on the paper work..

What they didn't realize was customs were tipped of by SOMEONE IN THE UK (probably a rival company) who told the Chinese Police what DVBMonkey were doing. Anyways, cut the story short, the little Chinese dude who owns the company flipped out on customs demanding the release of the goods and got him self arrested for OVER 6 DAYS ..

Anyways, he's out now and most of the goods are released and will be back to dispatch in the next few days.

I've asked him to signup on this forum to explain things but the sound of his voice, he was very upset that you guys have been let down.

Guys, I goto say, Gabriel (the owner) is a very honest little man and he really didnt wana piss ppl off and shit happens. He is going to contact everyone very soon..

Hope that helps
