Smart ECU

Hi all
I have a smart passion car with a damage ECU No 0261205005
I have das software and I have changed the ECU to another one with the same number eg 0261205005.
It has accepted the teach in key,transmission learn,clutch learn,throttle zero but car will not start and the fault code no can bus from ecu to zee unit.
I have also replaced the ZEE unit checked all the relays under seat etc,with same fault
However when swapping ecu using das procedure it cannot read the VIN .
Could some one plse help are these ecu compitable.
